Just got home from celebrating our independence day.. so knackered. But it was nice. :D Warm and sunny, but not too hot. :) Kids did their usual parade with marching bands, singing nation songs etc. And then ice cream, hot dogs and other treats at their school- along with games for the kids. :) Me and my mum headed to her place after for a bit, before I headed home and she went to her friend. :)

Cheddar and a lil bits of bacon on your fries is heaven... so not good for your waistline tho. lol Next time I get a milkshake I am gonna have to try dipping!

They had the start of the music festival in the city centre yesterday - after several days of really warm sunshine, yesterday was cloudy & a lot cooler temperature ;) But we didn't get the rain they forecast, so at least it wasn't a complete wash out ;) hehe I tried taking up one pair by hand.... then decided it was something I would never attempt again 😊 I struggled to get the needle through the fabric 😊 But yeah, if people are looking at the hem that closely, then they have a real problem! :P

Denim is def thick fabric to work with. :P I dont take the needle all the way through the fabric.. I will just sew on the backside- with the needle just through some of the fabric. Not all the way through. Hard to explain. :P

That's actually the way they recommend to do a 'blind hem' where the stitches don't show (much) on the right side of the fabric - I've never got the hang of doing that by hand though 😊

It works out okay.. even tho not as nice as the hem the trousers come with of course. :P I find that tiny stitches with the right colour thread doesnt show too much either. :)
