Pet slots are probably a good thing to use a loyalty box for. Personally, I've saved all of mine for battle stats when I reach T13. Unfortunately, I wind up having them all stuck in my inventory though. I really wish we could keep them somewhere safe or else just not get them until we're ready to use them. Oh well. Still really nice of Subeta to give us such great anniversary gifts.

we do have a ping group if you feel like joining. Not a biggy either way. It's just nice to be able to send out a message to all at once. :) It is # KLFA without the space.

Put your training into warp speed hun. This dude is nasty. :( It's more his curses that suck, He freezes and sometimes you can only use one weapon. He is NOT my friend! LoL

- no guarantees, but Hoarfrost first showed up in January of 2016 and has returned each January since then so it's likely he'll be back. Of course, you'll need to have a really high tier pet and some good weapons to beat him (Tos is T10 and isn't ready yet) but that can certainly be done if that's your priority. Good Luck! Maybe by next January, Tos will be ready to take him on as well.

LoL I know, those shrieks are so dang yummy! They are almost right up there with the Psycho Smasher! A couple of my favorite scrolls. I like the voids, but they just cost way to much AP in my opinion. Sizzlen has a butt load of AP, but I would rather add more psychos and shrieks over using more voids. :)

Ok, well maybe Bonnevie can take him on in two years then, hmm... ;P

The Morostide event challengers are all a lot of fun in my opinion. I enjoy them the most out of all the event ones!

Yeah I got that, I just don't think I have the patience or determination to train her to beat him next year if he's that nasty ;)

He isn't all the special anyways, so your not missing anything hun. <3 Now those morostide challengers. I can't wait for you to start battling them. If you starting to like battling now, you will be hooked after that. LoL

- I like Shrieks because

1. I actually own one (unlike Smashers), and
2. they use one less AP - something my pets are still way low on. :-)

And don't forget about those new freezing scrolls from the newest Gelatins I can't beat yet.

Maybe someday, I'll be able to think about using a Void. Right now none of my pets has 50 AP yet. Something I have started to work on.

I like that the psycho over the shriek only because they do damage too, but your right that 1 AP can make a difference when it comes to how many scrolls you can use. I know some of my sets I use a mix of both just because of that 1 AP difference, that way I can squeeze an extra freeze scroll in there on my smaller pets.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Strong Stomp Scroll. I think I have some of those in one of my scroll sets, but don;t use them in my smaller sets because of the 17AP. Good example at how just 1 or 2 AP can make a big difference!

I keep a shop for just storing books. (don;t seel anything in it) that way when I get a new pet I can pull out books right away and get the intel started. LoL I am nut when it comes ti intel. 😊

- agreed - I always prefer to do damage whenever I have the option. But Shrieks also have a better chance to freeze than the Smashers, so that also makes a difference. Especially if you're trying to chain freeze. LOL, I don't know what the freeze percentage is for the Strong Stomps and until now, didn't know their AP cost either.

With my newest battler, 81, I actually didn't start reading to her right away. Instead, first I played Mystic Spindles and bought intelligence with the points earned from that game. It works really well for a pet who hasn't been read to yet because the cost starts really low and then goes up with your intelligence level. So 81 is often an AP point or so ahead of Gulp who just started with books. Might not be worth the time and effort if you don't like the game or if you start lots of new battle pets, but I am glad I did it for 81.

Now I'm wondering when I should just start buying intel boosters rather than expensive books (of course remembering that you need to read a book after boosting intel to get that AP gain).

I have lots of books in my vault since I started collecting them way before I did any battling. And I often restock at shops that sell books, so I don't have trouble getting most of the easy ones. I just need to be willing to actually read some of the expensive holiday and/or Token Shop books at some point. LOL (I tend to be a hoarder when it comes to that sort of thing.)

I have never been much of a spindles player, but I know my friend [user=DrJeff} plays it a lot and he is one of the top battles. That just goes to show there is no wrong or right way to battling. Everyone has their own little quirks and way of training and doing things. I think it makes it more fun to hear/see everyones way. Just like i would never have thought to do spindles before reading books. Would be hard for me to change my ways, but non the less a neat way of doing it!

I read whatever i can to my new pets, because I love me some scroll action and I start battling with a new pet right away. I start with letting them do as many BQ's as they can because that EXP sure adds up and helps a ton with new pets. With my new pets not being strong at least I can attach a nice amount of scrolls to them and that helps so much in a battle when they are tiny. Now like my big dudes even though they have a ton of AP I can do all the BQ's without even taking scrolls into battle. They make the battle easier and quicker, but sometimes it is fun to just straight up battle. Again it is just whatever keeps each individual happy and having fun. That is why I never got into telling someone how to train or what to use. I like to help if asked, but some are more vocal on how "they" think things should be done.

I like to help and let each battler find their grove. :)

I know he has the top score in Reflection and by a lot too! because we sometimes talk about that game. By the way, I didn't think of using Mystic Spindles for a new pet, it was a suggestion from yet another battle friend.

Yes - everyone has their own particular style of battling and lots of different ways to get things done. That's part of the fun.

Interesting that you do BQs right away with your newest battle pets. "Common wisdom" on the Battle Chat thread seems to be that the very littlest pets grow so fast via training that it's not worth giving them BQs until they're a bit bigger. But, really, this is all a game, so to me, the right way is whatever is the most fun for you. I don't always want to be efficient or follow some current wisdom, sometimes I enjoy experimenting or doing something different just to see what results. (I just read the second half of your paragraph and see that we have similar philosophies about playing games - ie. they're supposed to be for FUN! - and good for you for knowing that, you'd be surprised how many people forget). I don't mind telling someone what the general agreement is about what the "best" or "most efficient" methods are, because I think it's easier to choose with more knowledge, but I try to make clear that enjoyment it the first and foremost goal when making their decision about what to do themselves. And yes, it's great to watch new battlers grow and find their own particular styles and ways of doing things.

Personally, I don't autotrain and I've done almost no boosting - I'm saving all my boosters and EXP for later (although I have been warned that EXP cost per stat triples between Levels 12 and 13, so I plan to use that a littler earlier than my original thoughts - see - nice to have knowledge to make the decision). I know that a lot of the battlers tell me I could beat challengers sooner if I at least use my EXP as I earn it, thus earning more EXP, but that's not what I feel like doing (yet).
