OK, so I made a little guide with a couple of GIFs so that you can see what's happening.
Step 1: No matter the grid size, you need to "chase down the lights". This means clicking until only the bottom row has blue squares left. Here's an example with a 5x5 grid.
Step 2: Depending on which squares are left in the bottom row, you'll have to click certain squares in the top row. Depending on the grid size, you'll have to use a different method:
5x5
First column represents the bottom row, where 1 represents a blue square.
Second column represents the top row, where 1 represents a square you have to click.

01010 => 01001
01101 => 10000
10001 => 00011
10110 => 00001
11011 => 00100
11100 => 01000
6x6
First column represents the bottom row, where 1 represents a blue square.
Second column represents the top row, where 1 represents a square you have to click.
000011 => 001101
001100 => 110011
010000 => 000100
010011 => 001001
010110 => 011101
011010 => 101110
011011 => 101011
100111 => 110100
101001 => 001111
101010 => 000010

You'll need to click every square in the top row that is to the left, centre and right of the blue square in the bottom row.
Example: 0001000 => 0011100
Step 3: Chase down the lights again.
I probably forgot a few of the 6x6 solutions, but that's what I remember off the top of my head. Ping me with a screenshot if you encounter a 6x6 that you can't solve!
