It's a stat booster! Working under the presumption that it's the item above, if you use it on one of your pets, that pet will gain one strength and one defense. (If you're ever curious about any of the other rewards she gives you, I recommend looking them up over on SubetaLodge. If you're not looking to create a battling pet anytime soon, though, you're likely better served to sell the good ones. Or hoard them to give out as gifts, I do that with my friends who like to battle.)
