I don't really have anyone to buy presents for this year, except friends on Subeta. But I did get a good deal at the animal rescue site, for myself and later gifting. They have nice lightning sales some times.

Last year I found an offer for a 1-year-subscription for my ex-fiancés favourite newspaper. 20€ instead of 200€. I still don't know why they offered such a huge discount, but I took it and he was super happy about the gift.

I can think of two things. One is the big item Christmas gift I bought my husband this year. I bought him one of those nice DX Racer gaming chairs because his current computer chair is literally falling apart. I saved $100 on that sucker.

The other would be the 3 photo books I created through Shutterfly of our wedding, since we got married this past September. I ordered three of the same book: one for us, one for my parents and one for his parents. Shutterfly had a deal where everything was 40% off, and on top of that, you could create a photo book with free unlimited pages. For the three books, it cost me $125. However, I literally saved $286! I was definitely wanting to make some photo books when the right deal came around, and coincidentally happened the day I received our wedding photos back!

Best holiday discount I got was grabbing Christmas gifts from the 75% off sale after Halloween.

Any time I go into the Younkers Department Store. My Dad used to work there so we get an employee discount on top of whatever sale they have going on. It's like how much will you pay US to take this item off your hands.

The day after halloween I went and bought 7 bags of candy (the big assorted oens) and it only cost me $20

Not much longer after The Sims 4 got out I managed to catch a sale (more than 50% off) of it, I paid like $10 for the game. I got really excited because I had already accepted that it would take me at least a year to buy it at a cheaper price?? Also The Sims are like my favorite kind of game.

So far my favorite deals have been finding an HP Lovecraft Adult Coloring Book for a tricky to buy for person- for five bucks!- and finding two sets of 36 Sharpies for 8 bucks each?! Yes please. Nabbed those up quick, haha~

I did buy myself a Marvel Moleskine (Thor!) for six bucks, but that's less a holiday score and more a "cool clearance at a place I only visited because of the holidays" score.

I work in publishing and am now at a company that sells books people actually want to read....so everyone I know is getting free books this year. we'll just see how many years I can get away with it before everyone realizes it's totally a cop-out.

My whole etsy wishlist went on sale for black friday! I went crazy! And we just bought a $300 tempurpedic desk chair for $120!

Best deal I got was last year where I bought a digital camera with a lot of really neat features (like 32x zoom, optimal lighting, automatically detecting whether it's a landscape or portrait, etc.) for $150. That was about $100 cheaper than it was originally. I got it on sale thanks to the Black Friday Events here in America.

This year I purchased a streaming blu-ray player for only $50. Black Fridays are the best. I got lucky both times though since I wasn't actually able to just stand in line prior to the sale time. I bought both of the items a day later. :P
