Well I'm finally going to run to the grocery store today after work. I say that counts because we're out of both bread AND milk and it's not even a snowpacalypse or anything right now (in fact, it's not even snowing today lol). I also plan on vacuuming once I get home.
Good luck on the job search! I know it can be rough. It took me 8 months after graduation til I finally got a bite. And in the end, it's because of a connection (my dad) that got me this job. Education and/or experience doesn't seem to get you much these days, which really doesn't make sense.
I studied for my American Politics final tomorrow and actually feel confident about my knowledge in the subject for once!
Today I'm again doing more writing to make money with that while I continue filling out paperwork for an upcoming job interview.
Thanks for the job search well wishes. Not that it makes it suck any less, but education not mattering much for jobs makes more sense if you take into account that way more people have college degrees now than in previous decades. It was with good intentions that kids started being more encouraged to go to college, but now the job market is oversaturated with people who have degrees! Jobs are out there, but there is always somebody with more education and experience applying to the same job who gets picked before the rest. It's such a competition.
I'm in the tough situation of I wouldn't mind a retail job though I'd rather actually use my graduate degree, but I've probably been passed over for retail positions I've interviewed for because it's assumed, correctly, I won't stay when I have a better offer. The thing is, on the other hand, I'm getting passed over for those better offers because I can't get the experience in my field and people who already have the experience get chosen over me! It's such a catch-22 nightmare. Employers need to change old-fashioned assumptions, too. It simply isn't reasonable to expect someone to work at the same company for life anymore. It rarely happens. Yet I was passed over for a sales position when I freely admitted I'd be fine with it for a few years, but not 10+! After they never even openly said what they expected for that up front after I asked multiple times! If they'd said they wanted that much time from anyone to begin with, I would have said goodbye and not wasted my time! So sick of all the job search BS. got into a rant there lol
I went to the dentist today even tho I absolutely hate it and it makes me so, so anxious. I've now spent like 800 euros on my teeth this year, ugh. D: So glad that I only have one appointment left...
I woke up an hour earlier than I usually do on days that I work so I would have time to shovel my driveway before going to work because it's been snowing the last 24 hours. My gf and I just bought a house. So, it feels crazy at 22 being someone who shovels their driveway at 5am.
Filled out the rest of the paperwork to get an apartment! I recently got a job and will have to move and finding an apartment has been a long process. Most places don't want pets, I have a cat. They have fees on top of fees ugh! I'm so glad to be almost done with that!
I understand the frustration of not finding a job. I was filling out 5 applications everyday. I'm fresh out of college so I have no experience and was passed by a lot of companies, because of that. I finally was able to get a job through a recruitment agency. Which I'm grateful towards them, yet sad that I couldn't get a job without their help. I also had to do so much research on interviewing and information about the companies I applied at, on top of sending out thank you letters to everyone. I'm so happy to be done and I hope that you find a job soon! I will keep you in my thoughts!
🦋 Happy Holidays! 🦋
I dealt with the computer repair guy all buy myself, even though he ended up taking my computer back to the factory. I offered him water and everything. Pinnacle of adult interaction.
I wished the postman a happy holidays without stuttering or doing any weird body language.
Last night was my friend's birthday and we took a bunch of Polaroid photos. I put them all up on the wall today! They look great!

Got through the day despite both hips giving me total grief at work. Had an accident beginning of Dec (where I was struck by a bus) and I just ache. This brutal cold hasn't been fun but...I MADE IT! I DID THE THING!
Made myself real food instead of trying to exist off of cheese and crackers all day! Yay real food!
I bathed my dog today, and made a really great lunch.
i drafted a blog entry :) and took pics to go along with it.
I really have to update my blog ObscureJourney and my review site BeingObscure. French speakers can read my reviews here.
