Zoe looked back at Jona with surprise. "Why's that?" she asked innocently.

"Perhaps you can show me..." Zoe suggested. "I mean if you want anyone to see you with me. Yes, I play the flute. Its perfect to take anywhere." She pulled her flute out of her pocket to prove it. "Oh piano is lovely. I wouldn't mind learning that one or the cello."

Magnus waved to Sauvage when he saw her enter.

[img align=left]https://sapi.subeta.net/shared/359338.png[/img] Jona furrowed his eyes together in confusion, watching Fade change colors and expressions. "Hey, man, are you okay?" Jona looked at Zoe and shrugged, asking her if she knew what was up, before Fade seemed to snap back to reality. "You were saying piano wasn't your wheelhouse - whatever that means."

"Fade's a metamorphmagus. He can change his appearance at will... well he's getting better at it," Zoe said sounding as if she had been friends forever rather than just having officially met. She had been watching him with interest for awhile.

This time she wanted to make sure she'd get all the school work done, preferably on time. "And how about you? Ready to lead us to victory?" she asked Drew with a grin. She sipped her warm drink and glanced at the feast on the table. "Now where are the puddings..." she muttered.

Drew sighed as Magnus slid in beside him. He should have known he thought to himself. Then again, he would have done the same thing had it been Magnus who had retreated. Heck, he HAD done the same thing plenty of times, concerned about his friend.

Shrugging at Magnus' question, Drew said, "Nothing. Just me being stupid. I didn't mean to ruin things for you." He couldn't very well blurt out what he was really thinking and feeling...at least not here. If it had been just him and Mags, there was a good chance the Slytherin would have confessed, but not in the Great Hall with dozens of others around.

Drew gave Rosie a grin. "Still getting used to the idea that I'm a prefect," he said. "but yep, I'm ready! We are going to stay on top of things this term...especially with Elizabeth () to help me." He chuckled at his housemate's musing. "If we can't find enough here, there will be some in the common room for sure," he said and then added in a stage whisper, "I asked for some to be waiting for us...prefect's privileges and all that." He winked.

"You didn't ruin anything for me you knuckle 'ead," Magnus said elbowing him. "Come on, wanna go to the kitchens for a mo? See if they got chocolate cake?"

Once she was finished and content with the hunger level of her stomach, she wiped her face on a napkin and walked back over to where everyone seemed to be mingling. One face stood out from among the crowd and she could not help but smile. She walked up to Fade () and nudged him playfully with her shoulder. "It 'as been awhile." She just looked at him and continued to smile before she noticed that there were others with them.

"Oh, uh..." She bit her lip and blushed profusely. She had forgotten they were in the Great Hall and that literally everyone ( and others) could see them. She turned to hide her face, burying it in Fade's shoulder then - quickly realizing that, that was likely just making everything worse - she turned back and said one word. "Hi."

“Oh! Er, wheelhouse is like… It’s not something I’m good at understanding.” He grinned at Jona. () “Sorry, non-magical upbringing. I forget people here don’t know.” His grin slipped away when Zoe told Jona he was a Metta. “Guess word gets around…” He scratched his head. “You know it isn’t as rare as it used to be, there are a bunch of kids this year who have it.” He had in all honesty thought of asking a Professor if they could start a club dedicated to learning how to get better at it. But the shy part of him had kept that idea from being spoken aloud.

“Show you how to draw you mean? Well sure, it isn’t hard. You just hold a quill ‘n ink on a page and move your arm around like this.” He made moc movements in the air like scratching and scribbling. He narrowed his gaze at the other Ravenclaw mischievously. () But they widened when she produced the flute from her pocket. It was always weird to him how magic pockets worked.

Fade’s train of thought was derailed once again by the appearance of Sauvage at his side. He managed to mutter a “Yeah.” Before staring blankly and only reacting when she jumped to attention. The physical contact sent a chill over his body but he tried to play it cool. “This is Sauvage by the way.” He introduced her. “Zoe and Jona. She’s in Huffelpuff too.” He nodded toward Jona’s yellow tie. “Zoe’s a Ravenclaw like me. That is, if you haven't already met. I duno.” His expression sort of went blank lost in the moment and feeling sort of overwhelmed.

"Sorry." Sauvage whispered so only Fade () could hear her. She was definitely one to react first and think later, which did not always help in situations with Fade, who could get overwhelmed so easily. She missed him, though, that much was undeniable. She was just incredibly awkward when it came to public affection.

Jona smiled at the girl with pink hair who kind of reminded him of a squirrel. "So, are you, like, a metamorphi-whatever, too?" He asked her.

She simply nodded her head no in response. "'ello, by zee way, Jona. I 'ope we get to know eachozer better in 'ufflepuff." Then she smiled at Zoe () and said, "'ello! 'ow are you?"

Millie was finishing her potato skins and butterbeer when she saw Sauvage () enter the hall looking flustered. She smiled at her friend when she stopped by to say hello and rushed to get her dinner. She moved her plate from in front of her to give her more room and decoded to wait for Sauvage to come back to the table and eat before she the two caught up

Zoe watched as a girl came up to them, to Fade and interacted with him. Aww how sweet. "Hi," she said. She noticed Fade's unease about his ability. Funny, she'd love to have it. When Fade spoke again the teen looked hurt. Of course, make fun of her when she finally tried to engage someone to get a possible friend. Her eyes were threatening to leak as she felt the burn in them. "Just fine," she said to Sauvage trying to ignore the crack in her voice which showed she was not fine. She wouldn't cry in the great hall, she just wouldn't. She scooped the pet flobberworm into her hand and ran out of the hall, sliding down the wall just out of view from the main doors.

Drew looked back at Magnus at the mention of chocolate cake. Darn him! Drew thought. Not only did Mags know his weakness for chocolate, but he was subtly getting them away from the Great Hall.

"If they have some I'm getting enough to take back to the room with me, just in case," Drew told his friend as he stood up. "Let's go have a look."

The sort of blissful ignorance Fade had been wearing as an expression was gone in an instant when Zoe turned and ran out of the Hall. He had only been kidding, and thought maybe they had been well enough acquainted for her to pick up on that. But seeing as how he had been terribly wrong, his heart sort of sank and it felt like there was a lump in his throat.

“I feel like that was my fault...” His gaze flicked between and Jona. He was conflicted, but knew he had to make amends or the rest of his day, maybe even the entire term wouldn’t feel right. “I’ll be right back. Really good to see you again, by the way.” He winked at Sauvage, empowered by the fact he was also running away.

Turning on his heel Fade followed sheepishly after Zoe. Took him a minute to find her, but the sound of sniffles gave it away. Rounding the corner with his hands stuffed into his pockets, he quietly sat beside her leaning back and resting his head on the wall. “I was only joking.” He paused. He didn’t look over, not wanting to see the tears. “I guess, I mean to say. I’m sorry if I’ve offended you. Wasn’t my intention.” The rafters were distant and the large room combine with the situation made him feel very small. “It’s how I am with friends.” ()

Jona had followed Zoe (), too, but when he noticed Fade ()was also coming, he held back. Probably best to let him handle the situation. Instead, Jona lingered just inside the doors of the Great Hall - far enough to not be able to hear their whispers, but close enough to hear if someone started to get angry.

Sauvage slowly walked behind him, though she seemed less concerned for Zoe and more so for Fade. She was worried whether he would be able to confidently mend the situation at hand.

"Excellent," Magnus said with a wide smile, lets go get cake." He practically pulled Drew's robes.

Zoe wiped a few tears from her face as she looked up at Fade. "It's fine," the girl said. "I just get terrible allergies. Must be a Jabberwocky in there somewhere." She shook her head. "Don't worry about. I'll be fine." She flicked her head over at Sauvage. "I think ye're girlfriend wants to snog ye anyway." She never saw Jona.

Was that what this was about? Suddenly Fade felt very confused and struggled with what to say next. “My girlfriend?” He looked over to see watching worriedly from a distance. Well this was certainly awkward. He fumbled with the words and rubbed his face. “Haven’t actually asked her out yet, but that’s a bit personal right?” The mere suggestion that someone like Sauvage wanted anything to do with him in that way gave Fade heart palpitations. But the usual burst of adrenaline was subdued by the present scenario. Or rather replaced it with another weird feeling he just couldn’t shake. Maybe it was surprise.

He knew Zoe was lying, no one who was fine said ‘it’s fine’ that many times. () But there was only so much one guy could do. “Allergies are a pain.” He conceded while pulling a swatch of blue flannel fabric from his pocket and handing it to Zoe. “Give it back to me later, I’ll practice Scourgify on it.” He stood, lifted a brow, and turned to leave her be. Chasing after her and lingering around probably wasn’t making her feel any better. Not if she was acting so strangely for underlying reasons.

Returning toward the great hall he half smiled at Sauvage. “Hey, sorry.” His eyes flicked away and spotted Jona close by. “She’s got allergies.” He said by way of explanation and was eager to change the subject. “How were your breaks?” His stomach grumbled a bit and he gritted his teeth. “AH, I know you just ate but would you mind if I grabbed a bit more to eat?” He smiled and offered Sauvage his arm. “That’s to assume you would want to join me.” Was it warm in here or was it just his palms? "You're invited too Jona." He grinned at the younger boy hoping he didn't look like the mess he felt at the moment.

Fade came wandering back, a bit unsettled, but Sauvage pretended not to notice, for his sake. He explained the girl had allergies - a blatant lie - then changed the subject when his stomach growled. Sauvage was pleasantly surprised when her offered her his arm and, of course, she took it. "You should know something about me: I am always ready to eat!" She waited until they got far enough away before asking, "So, is everything all right?"

Jona was not convinced, or perhaps it would be better to say he was not satisfied with "allergies" as an answer. He shook his head when Fade extended the invitation to share in a meal. "Nah, you love birds go have fun. I think I'll just sit here - feeling a little off what with all the sugar I've had." He waited for them to walk away before leaning against the wall on the other side from where Zoe sat. Jona didn't know what was wrong, but his heart gave a squeeze of sympathy for her nonetheless. "Are you..." He stopped himself before asking the stupidest question he could. "Hey, so, um..." He sat on the floor and whispered through the wall, not even sure if she could hear him. "If you would rather I leave, then I will do that. But, if you don't mind me staying then..." He trailed off and flicked the tops of his shoes with his fingers. He thought about what he could say and suddenly remembered the creature she had clutched when she fled the hall. "That's a flobberworm, right? That you have with you? What's its name?" He really hoped he wasn't making things worse right now' he just wanted to help out a new friend.

Shaking his head with a smile as Magnus encouraged him to hurry, Drew headed out of the Great Hall with the younger boy. On the way out he spotted Fade talking to a girl who seemed to be a bit upset, and Jona and Sauvage were hovering nearby. Since he had no idea what was going on Drew shared a look with Fade and then continued on with Magnus, thinking that the others would be able to help Fade if he needed it. He had issues of his own at the moment and hoped he'd be able to sort through them.

Elizabeth looked over to Poppy() as the girl joined them at the table. "Congratulations for making Head Girl", she said with a smile and placed some potato wedges on her plate. Noticing another Slytherin girl joining the table, Elizabeth looked curiously at her as she didn't knew Hollynd Atwood quite good yet. She chuckled at Lenore's words. () "I've just gotten a letter before leaving home. Corvus is already completely absorbed in revising everything he learned as it's his last year and the final exams are coming up.", she explained, "How are you? I hope the position of Head Girl isn't too stressful. "

Grinning lightly when Drew() and Rosie() were talking about the house cup, Elizabeth poured herself some more tea into the cup. "I don't see why we shoudn't be able to win again.", she said before Drew left with Magnus. They seemed to be up to something fun. Hopefully they woudn't get into trouble. Boys, Elizabeth thought amused.
