Are you guys sure she's the weekend quest? 'Cos I spent 112k sP on 2 quests and got 1k and 3k...WTH guys? Worse then any week day...
I haven't been asked for items that expensive, and I've been getting payouts higher than the cost of the items she's asked for.
Maleria grants sP based on rarity, so if she asks for a low rarity item on a non-WSQ day she can pay out less than 1KsP. If you got her asking for an item like that and got 3KsP then you got a nice bonus ~just a not very good reward for 'a quest' though. All the sP-only grantors can do something like that to you, and you don't get a compensating item to help you with a bad random roll.
Staff has told us on more than one occasion that they tweak quests. So there's no true way for us users to tell for most quest grantors if they are working as the WSQ or not. You could file a Ticket in Help if you like.
We seem to have people asking this every weekend :/ Unfortunately, even when a quest is a weekend quest there's still an element of luck to it, so some weekends you might just be really unlucky.
With Maleria, she gives rewards based on the rarities of what she asks for, so you may have gotten unlucky with an expensive low-rarity item. I know there is at least one weapon she asks for that is rarity 1 and thus always gives terrible rewards for it. In any case, yes, the weekend quests are working correctly. Sometimes a quest isn't profitable and it sucks but it's part of the game. /shrug

There are only four Rarity 1 items onsite, and it's the only one that's a weapon.
Black Sai (Rarity 3), Fire Charm (Rarity 5), Battle Spork (Rarity 9), Macechucks (Rarity 9) and Water Arrowhead (Rarity 9) are the other weapons below Rarity 10.
