I guess my something nice would be my job. I came back from vacation this week and realized just how much I missed working. I never thought I'd say that! We're a super small staff, but we're all so supportive of each other and my coworkers are so kind and helpful. It hits me every now and again how lucky I am to have a work experience like this :)

Joy happens every day where I live in the Blue Mountains about 2 hours drive west of Sydney, Australia. I have a bird-filled garden. Beautiful rosella parrots, king parrots, bower birds, wonga pigeons, finches, kookaburras and numerous others visit every day.

I was particularly thrilled the other day when my friend's 9-month-old baby put out his little chubby arms for a hug from me when being held by his mum!

The nicest thing today was that my mom randomly bought me a new plant for my room. Well, maybe not completely random as I think it was meant to be a replacement for my plant that died in her care while I was away for a few weeks haha...but! It it still made me really happy :D the flowers are orange which is one of my favorite colors plus it goes nicely with the colors of the season :)

Something nice.. need to think - I have actually had a rough 2017 but I have for once in my life reached out to people around me and found I have some amazing supportive and caring people in my life. The best thing that's happening right now is that my best friend is realizing his girlfriend is abusive and that he needs to leave her. Which seems like a kinda strange thing, but having been in abusive situations, I know how hard to see it, much less know you need to leave. He's been able to see how she's being manipulative and controlling and pushing him for commitment he's not ready for. And I'm so happy because he's acting like himself again.

Today I bought something from BHH for the very first time. I had never seen any item in there before much less bought one. So it was awesome when I did it for the first time. :D

Good things... All my firewood is split and stacked for winter. The moldy insulation from last winter's floods is all replaced and a new sump pump, with a battery backup for when the power goes out, is installed and ready to go. My back doesn't hurt today. and of course are the only things still on my wishlist.
