All I know is everyone who has unlocked him did it by getting a chibi zap after a decent number of zaps. I had unlocked him after the human zapper became available again, but I haven't personally used the human zapper yet this year because I already have all of the skins.

The only other thing I know of is that it should be regular zaps, not the extra experiment guarantee zap. But yeah, please let me know whatever they say in the ticket if there's an issue with it or something. :)

I see, yea I would assumed I would have gotten a forced unlock as well at this point because I think I'm at least around 15 normal zaps since he was released, cannot even recall the amount of gender swaps my pet went through LOL I think its beyond confused at this point

Yeah, I wish I could help more but unfortunately all of these solutions are just based on what myself and other users have been able to figure out, and I don't actually know for sure how it's supposed to work in the programming and all that lol. Hopefully if anything is wrong with it, they can look into that and get it fixed.

Hi guys, I hope it's okay for me to ask here, but has anyone had trouble unlocking Maybel? I am buying minions directly from her at Minions Market and deleting them, I must have done about 70 now, and no unlock. I know this thread says that it takes 5 deletions but I checked the news comments from when she was released as a challenger and someone said the requirement is different for each user. Any ideas? :)

Maybel is currently glitched! A couple of folks on the Battle Chat have reported it, and theres a bug thread ">here. You may want to add to the bug report thread so they can confirm it’s affecting several users!

I got Ying as a challenger by visiting the bathhouse lobby, but I don't know if it's random because I got her the first time I go there. I visited her at around 7:30 pm EST if that is of any help.

I got Ying as well by just visiting the lobby. I don't think there is a time correlation to it but I went at 7:52am est (same in Subeta time). Good luck everyone!

Yeah, based on the wording of the news post, I'm guessing it very likely could be as easy as just visiting the lobby, so that's what I've put as the solution for now.

I may ask a staff member if they can confirm it later, but I won't be surprised if that is the actual solution. I know mentioned in the news comments for a different post that part of the reason the challenger was so delayed was because hadn't had a whole lot of time to program an unlock method with all of the other site issues they were still trying to fix. So they could have just decided to go with something simple so the challenger could still get released this month.

Just curious, and also blind as hell so I might have missed it.. How does one unlock Quentin? At this point I just want to have most of these challengers unlocked for the heck of it. Thanks~

You should be able to unlock them just by purchasing 5 of the ghost items from their shop.

Like you could buy 5 of since it's the cheapest.

Although I think this may be one of the ones that I have seen at least one other person having issues with recently, so if that solution doesn't work you could report it.

Any luck finding Hoarfrost? Been unlucky so far and can't find him anywhere :'(

I believe you find him in the Ice Fields. However, I don't know, if it's working. Some unlockable challengers have caused problems recently.

I think it's supposed to be random while going through the Ice Fields, so if you don't unlock him right away you may have to go back a few times. Once you unlock him, he will automatically show up in the Event tab in future years when he's brought back.

I haven't seen any reports of people not being able to unlock him so far this year, but I've had him unlocked for a long time so I can't check for myself or anything.

yeah, one needs to try several times, of course. I've had him since year one, so I don't know, whether it's working. But I guess we would have heard by now, if it wasn't.

For that one, you need to purchase the item and use it to unlock the challenger. The item isn't in the Cash Shop right now though, so you would have to wait unless you want to purchase one from another user. The challenger summoning items usually get brought back during Black Friday, although it might come back sooner this year since they have been bringing some of the different sets back whenever there is the CSC bonus weekend. So just keep an eye out, if you want to wait.
