I don't do either, but I just bought something kind of similar- a ouji board.
Do you think I should try it? I bought it on a whim during Christmas shopping.
Silently lurking this thread because I've been wanting to go into Tarot for years now, yet never found the time.
I've also wanted to draw my own deck one day but hnnnn not sure if it feels good to draw one without being able to read Tarot cards properly.
NO. I do not suggest messing around with ouija boards at all. Tarot cards I'm fine with, but I think using a ouija board is asking for trouble. You never know what kind of spirit you could end up contacting with it. I know ouija boards are marketed as a toy, and I know the psychological trick talked about with it which there is truth to (Get more than one person and your hands will tend to subconsciously move the pointer.) but I think there's more to it and I don't want people to end up getting stuck with anything haunting them. I believe places like graveyards are often haunted not because of the people buried there, but because kids will do stuff like mess with ouija boards there.
I own two tarot decks and can read them. I do reference some texts for some cards that I encounter less often, but nothing wrong in that! I recently bought a pendulum but am still acquainting myself with it.
I read for anyone who asks really. I tend to read with multiple paths in mind. Meaning that if you had not had a reading this is likely what may occur(loosely) but now that you've been read your roads are open to change.
I'm kind of weird and go back and forth between believing in Tarot and stuff and being a huge cynic. Idk.
I own the Gilded Tarot cards by Ciro Marchetti. Someone who used to be my friend gave me that set when I was in high school but I ended up losing it or just getting rid of it, can't remember. I didn't want them anymore because that person was no longer my friend and is just a horrible person. Also, I was trying to get rid of everything to do with the supernatural because of some bad experiences that I don't want to go in to. But, I always thought Ciro Marchetti's work was beautiful so I bought myself a new deck. Unfortunately it didn't come with the really nice book it used to and now it has a kind of crappy little book in it that doesn't go into much detail.
Sometimes I pull it out and do some readings and I've always found it's pretty accurate. It might just be psychology but I enjoy it anyway. It makes me think about situations more deeply which can be good since everyone's guilty of only seeing things one way sometimes. It can give me a new perspective on things which I think is good.
I don't think I'd do a reading for anyone other than someone very close to me because I'm not confident and I feel like a bit of an idiot lol
I started collecting decks when I was younger because I was drawn to the art! Lately I've been looking more into the actual art of Tarot reading, it's surprised me how accurate readings can be. I have three decks right now, my favorite being the Azathoth Tarot. The names of the other two escape me because I'm currently not home. There is a local tarot reader in my city that I've been dying to visit, just to get a better grasp on the logistics.
It's a perfect day for some mayhem.I've been reading tarot cards for about 12 years now. I started in middle school during my exploration into wicca. While my beliefs have changed and evolved over the years, I have always turned to tarot cards as a source of guidance. A few years ago, I started reading professionally online. Tarot brings guidance and clarity to so many people. It's really been an enlightening experience.
I don't read to see the "future." The cards show you what can happen if you stay on the path you are currently on. If you see something that you want to change, you have the ability to manifest that change. I am a true believer that you control your path and that if you spread good vibes the universe gives them back to you.
Sorry to get all spiritual on you guys!
I do tarot! I have two decks, black cats and The Lord of the Rings. The cats are a little more capricious and tend to give me tough love, while the LOTR deck is much more gentle, but still honest.
My personal card is The High Priestess.
"If we are all worms, try to be a glow worm."
I have the rider-waite tarot deck and two oracle card decks. Were you interested in a reading? ^_^ Let me know if anyone would like one!

I own a few tarrot decks and do tarrot readings. I would like to try pendulum. (I also do palm reading). I started out of curiosity by doing readings only for myself, and I realised that it helps me to think about my path, and it gives me some guidance. Almost nobody around me knows that I am interested by these stuffs (I keep everything linked to my beliefs secret in general), so I rarely did readings for other people. The few times I did reading to friends they told me that there was a lot of truth in what I was telling them, though.
I was actually raised pagan and one of the things I was taught to do was tarot, but I actually lean more towards runes than I do the cards. The cards have a tendency to be very vague about things and I find runes to be very straight forward and to the point. It may also be because of my anglo-saxxon decent.
I have also played with pendulums, they are more good for things like party favors... but I personally have nothing against it otherwise. Pendulums are also good at helping you find lost things.
As far as ouija boards. An absolute no. There is opening a door, and throwing a door wide open so that anything and everything can get in. That's playing with the dead and unless you know a strong medium...I wouldn't advise it. On a side note, if you do mess with a board and get something nasty from the other side, black candles for banning negativity, black salt around all the rooms and the home itself, and if you are able to track the spirit to a resting place, you can put three iron nails into the soil and bind it to its grave. Again, I would not advise messing with anything to do with this part. If you do, don't go it alone and do your research.
"...I've been through it all baby, I'm mother courage."
hi, would it be rude to ask for a reading? im interested in trying for one :)

Hi! I hope it's not weird for me to drop in.
I've been drifting in and out of using tarot for years now, but I'm hoping to get back into it and get better at interpreting the cards. I tend to use my deck for introspection more than trying to predict the future, I feel like divination can be a great tool to help look into yourself and learn more about who you are. Oh, also my current deck is "Tarot of the Cat People". If you needed a quick summary of me as a person, it's that deck :p
