So disclaimer, I've never really completely left but the last time I was super active and really into everything was in the pre custom wearable days. Ever since then it's been on and off

But I think I need to fill a gaping hole that another pet site left and what better way to beat an addiction than to replace it with something else

So how are things around here? What is the market like, are things super hard to sell outside of restockables? Do people feel like the site costs too much to keep up with or it is too pay to win? I have nothing against the cash shop but I want to check for monsters under the bed this time before finding myself in a site that costs too much to keep up with

Well, I might be a bit biased, but I actually joined Subeta about a year ago and fell completely in love. I migrated here after spending over a decade on a certain other pet site beginning with the letter N lol.

My answers are gonna be pretty positive, and you're going to think I'm biased, but actually? These are my honest opinions, based on my time here, so do with them what you will!

In my opinion, Subeta's economy is way, way better than the economies of other pet sites, where prizes given by dailies or items that users get for free plummet to 1 currency-point in shops and can't recover. Subeta is nice because there's no such thing as a "junk" item - you can always convert your items into something valuable by fragging them or turning them into the recycling beast, or waiting for the item sink holidays/events. Subeta's also nice because, in addition to no junk items, there's also no "unobtainable" items - at least, not for long. Items that become super rare are always brought back eventually through things like the cash shop hustler, the crystal shop, free gifts, etc.

I think it's very easy to make sP to get things you want, and I really like that Subeta doesn't make certain items "unobtainable forever" like other pet sites might. It's definitely encouraging to work on my collections when I know that it is in fact possible to complete the goal :)

It's generally not hard to sell something unless it's actually completely overpriced. If it's a usable/collectable item, it will probably sell very well. Generally, items from the MC, holiday shops, and other special shops don't sell unless you offer a discount from the retail price (otherwise users can just buy from the shop directly). And retired holiday items won't fetch too high a price, because most players expect they'll return for cheaper via crystal shop or something in the future.

I think CSC is only a money sink if you find yourself getting into CWs. Otherwise, you can pretty much always buy the CSC you need from other players, or you can wait a bit and buy cash shop items for sP in user shops (or find someone selling them on the forums). I actually very rarely purchase things from the cash shop now - If I want an item, I'll shop-search it every once in a while and usually I'll be able to find it for a reasonable sP amount at some point :)

For example, this month's collection item - the july 2017 collection - costs 250 CSC in the store, but I was able to buy two of them for 20m each from a user shop. Score!

That said, I do hope players who enjoy this game buy CSC to show support, because we honestly sort of... need it haha. We are not rich or making tons of money like players like to assume. Subeta honestly tries not to be pay-to-win, and none of us want it to become pay-to-win. This isn't one of those games where they try to bleed you dry by forcing you into microtransactions. We have a cash shop, but tbh it's not so much for profit as it is to reinvest back into improving the game, offering more new content, etc c:

Well, thanks for your answer. Just kinda burnt out by my last experience of 'fully paid gambling events' but hey, I've always been relatively less completion on this site and perhaps that means more than the actual amount of cash bling released

And hey, I'm sure this site is better than the dreaded N site. I actually quit that one years and years ago haha.

Yeah, ditto what Bug said. There are loads of different currencies on the site, from event currencies, to standard sp, to the "buyable" currency, CSC (see your currencies here).. But the thing is, they are all completely convertible. You can always buy CSC (if you shop around, you can often get it for about 500 CSC/50 Mill sp, or 10 CSC/1 Mill sp), and you can also win it by visiting the Bathhouse every day...

And loads of great CSC items (CWs, mainly, which are spectacular items drawn by players) do run at about that 500 mark. Some new are higher, some older, less beloved items (though often still great ones) can run lower. And a Gold Account (the subscription to the site, the equivalent of being a paying user on most sites, with added perks) also costs about 500 for a month of the special features.

50 M sp sounds like a huge amount when you first join the site, but it's actually not... Without a gold account, you can make about 5 M sp every day, if you do all of the site quests. Once you can afford a gold account, that usually jumps to about 8 M. Then, when you do the quests and site events, or if you go in shops, you can also get loads of items to sell, which means you make even more money off of those. And, major perk, if you have a gold account, you can autoprice your entire shop once a day, so that it isn't such a pain to sell all those loads and loads of items...

There are also loads and loads of spectacular items that cost a lot less than the custom wearables, though. Staff-made CSC items (available in the Cash Shop itself) usually run between 100 CSC and 125 (which means you can buy them for 10-15 M sp, though their actual shop price might be higher or lower). And then there are loads of beautiful items in regular shops, or the special event shops. And the special events each have their own currency, but you can always buy the currency using sp.

The biggest thing about subeta, is getting used to all those currencies. If you get used to switching around, and shopping around, looking to see what items are priced in their special currency versus sp, you can get really good deals, and make the money you earn go farther...

I've never put in any actual money to the game, but I have a huge collection of spectacular clothing (mostly focused on sp and special currency items, not user-made CW items), but I also have about 20 CWs that I just loved too much not to buy...

So yeah, that's a lot of typing to basically say, yes, anyone can play, without the site being a real-money sink.

That being said, of course, loads of people DO put real money in, and buy loads and loads of CWs. I know plenty of people who have hundreds of CWs. And if you DO decide to put in real money, you can buy CSC straight from subeta with cash, or you can buy a gold account from the shop, or sell items you've purchased with real money to make sp, if you need cash. And they also have subscription plans, so for example, for about 5 bucks a month, you can subscribe to a gold account, or for bucks you can subscribe to have 500 CSC added to your vault every month. There are also a range of subscriptions that combine gold accounts and/or different amounts of CSC, running from 500 - 2000, and monthly up to yearly subscriptions...

So yeah...

Thanks for providing another perspective

I think as long as I stay away from the CW's, things will be fine haha
