I used to feel ignored in the SB when I came around to using it years ago. I'm not a particularly interesting guy on days where I'm my more calm, mild self, talking about mundane and simple topics. Heck, I got more attention when I used to be a pint-sized, petulant pissbaby with no frickin' common sense. Of course, my bratty nature, and by extension, the long period of depression I went through, made me a fair bit infamous in the SB. I've mellowed out a lot in recent times, but you'd be surprised at how short my fuse can be on certain days.

I don't think anyone tries to ignore the new faces in the SB on purpose. It's like a cafe, where everyone is just talking amongst themselves while enjoying the brew. People are often engaged in conversation, to the point where new faces in the SB are inadvertently ignored. Of course, I get ignored at times when I'm coming in to talk, despite being a fair bit of a regular, but I don't always take it personally. As long as you say hi and be polite enough get someone to notice you, more will follow up. On the opposite end, causing drama will also get you noticed, but in a more negative reaction, and people will block you... hardcore. Like I said, be nice, be polite, and try to get other people's attention in a positive way, and more will follow up. That's the best advice I can give.

Also, sorry for such a looooong message.
