went to the store, took the new fish (alive) and the dead fish back. I got my money back and bought a decoration for the 5 gallon betta tank. I didn't trust her advice though so I'll go to the local petsmart if Mum's paid tomorrow to get the advice I trust. Tired, stress haha

Bleach would entirely screw up the pH in the tank o_O So....those people are the reason you were having fish deaths and illnesses...they don't know how to properly clean and keep fish and fish accessories.

Mum came up with putting a shelf above the tank, enough for me to get into, but low enough to keep little paws out. Think that'll be my answer. Might have to cover it when I'm away until that's up though.
