That's so weird that they're open on the 4th. Grocery stores I understand, most other places...not so much. I hope your shift is easy at least ❤️

It's cause we are a hardware store, like we sell stuff you would need for a barbecue and such. Idk I hope it's not too bad, we do close two hours early but that means I need to be up two hours earlier.

I feel like folks could make do with getting their briquettes at the grocery store and not needing y'all to be open. Why do you have to get up earlier if they close early?

Because my shift has to be 8 hours. I usually work monday through thursday from 2 pm to 10:30 pm (8 hours) on sundays I work noon to 8:30 pm, since we are closing at 8 on the fourth this means I have to be there by noon. We always open at 6 am.

Ah. Most places I worked always just shortened our hours on any days where we closed early haha. I didn't realize Home Depot would keep the shifts the same length.

More money is always helpful. I could use more at my job but also I cannot work more than I am without getting homicidal haha.

Oh I feel that. I have to remind myself I can't say anything to people...today I was having a bad day emotionally and I was getting help with another customer so I was on the phone and I forgot to say bye to the customer because I was stressed and still thinking about the other customer and this asshole goes "bye, have a good day thanks for shopping with us" in a mocking voice and his boyfriend just scoffed at me. I just said "whatever man, you too"
