We highly recommend starting a new character for the Tri-Wizard Tournament! Technically you do not have to start a new character at all, but it might be a little difficult to participate in the activities that involve roleplay. If you are assigned to Ilvermorny or 4A, you will not be able to use your Hogwarts character for that school to earn points with. However, for roleplay threads that are not for points, I have no problem with you using your Hogwarts character.

When we return from the tournament, you can pick back up your Hogwarts characters again.

We are thinking of offering the option for members to "transfer" their character to the school they are assigned, however they will not be able to transfer back once the tournament is over. This is not set in stone yet, but if enough people are interested, we might use it.

Just a reminder! We will start assigning schools starting Wednesday. You can give us your preferences anytime before the tournament actually starts, but you are more likely to get the school of your choosing if you have your preferences in by Wednesday. :)
