Do Not Post Images Do not post images in the shoutbox for any reason. If you would like to show an image to other users, you may link to it using sCode.
This rule allows for a very ambiguous interpretation.
Does linking items like for Snow Dusted Bloodred Apple count as an exception as an image in shout box? It doesn't stretch the shoutbox (only shown once, all item sCodes are standardized to 64x64 pixel space) and it is technically using sCode. I was suggesting an item to put on for a user. My intention was not to show an image, but make it easily accessible to purchase the item or observe it over one's HA palette by hovering.

Second question, since certain strings convert to emoticons like heart <3 since it gets rendered as such, is this also a violation of the rule - if the first case is not permissible but the second is?

You can only link to full-sized images through hyperlinking by using sCode, you may not render or show images otherwise within the chat box, with the exception of natively rendered chatbox emoticons.</p>
