History is fascinating! I love the french revolution times most :) Oh, I have never heard about this author. I checked her and she has good opinions on polish book portal :) I will try to read one of her books!
She is a really good writer. I think her best series is the newer one - first book in that series is "Fifth Season" - that is probably the one to start with. But I don't think it's been translated into Polish. If not, maybe it will be, so you can get it then, or read it in English? I'm not sure how you feel about that! I have now realized it's very difficult to use search to determine what translations are available.
I got the title wrong of the one I am currently reading, though - it is "Shadowed Sun" -- book one was "Killing Moon" (I got confused because the title doesn't show up on the Kindle while I'm reading it!)
Sometimes I read books by favorite authors but I also try to read a lot of books by new authors. Otherwise I'll run out eventually and I can't risk it!
Not all of her books were translated into polish from what I see. Her first series is not for sure. From my side I recommend you the Brandon Sanderson's books :) I just finished Elantris and it was the best book I have ever read ^^ I will start reading his other series when I finish Lightbringer :)
Oh yes -- I liked Elantris, it was very good. (I think you liked it much more than I did though!) His other series are also pretty good, though I have trouble finishing them, they seem to me to drag out a bit. I have read at least the first book or two of most of them though! The one about the metal mages is probably my favorite, though the color mages one was also decent. (I apologize that I can't remember the titles, I will try and find them later)
Interestingly, the Dreamblood series (both books... not just one of them) reminds me a little of Elantris. The same kind of characters and setting, I suppose. But I probably wouldn't think it was as similar if I remembered Elantris more vividly...
I haven't read a lot of Polish writers but I loved Stanislaw Lem's books since I was a kid (the translations of his books were very good). My grandmother immigrated to the US from Poland when she was only four years old, so I have ancestry there.
Sapkowski with The Witcher is probably the best polish author :) I really love his books! Also Piekara with his Inquisitor series is pure honey :) Polish authors write amazing fantasy books. Also, from slavic authors - Olga Gromyko :) Her fantasy about Wolha Redna is priceless ^^
Ah, during my childhood, I loved (and still love) all the amazing Czech movies like Pan Tau, 3 nuts for Cinderella, Luzie spreading terror in the streets, The Fairytale Bride and so on. Adorable!

I grew up on Jim Henson's movies ^^ But I read more than watched ^^
I am manic reader xD I don't know where to put my book anymore ^^ I dream about the huge library room in my house :)
Yes, I have not one yet three rows each in my drawers, lol

Sleepy this morning. Watched all of Sherlock last night and stayed up to late ug
unfortunately the Witcher series translation into English is not very good. I tried reading it and couldn't get anywhere. I am sure it's amazing in Polish if only I could read it ...
The story I've seen from the game versions is very engaging though.
I've always been a reader (since I learned to read, anyway) and it's the thing I do when stressed to soothe myself as well. When I was very young (1st-3rd grade) I mostly read children's books of course and my favorites were mystery and historical fiction (Hardy Boys mysteries, Laura Ingalls Wilder's novels, that kind of thing) and then in 4th grade I started reading some classics and fantasy novels (David Copperfield, the Hobbit) and then I discovered science fiction (mostly "Hall of fame" short story anthologies and collections by authors like Clarke and Asimov) and that became a lifetime love as well. I still read mostly mystery, historical fiction, classics, fantasy, and science fiction to this day - and still love science fiction best probably :) Though I do read contemporary fiction and romance occasionally too, and even nonfiction books (I hardly ever read nonfiction books though).
I'm not especially fond of the recent fad for YA dystopias though. I have mostly avoided reading them (I did read Lois Lowry's series starting with The Giver... not super impressed, but they were interesting and made me want to read on, apparently, since I got all the way through book 4. I kept hoping for more depth though...) I also mostly have avoided horror, but I do like Stephen King. I was convinced I wouldn't and ended up reading one on a dare and well... ugh. Then I tried a few other popular horror writers and no, I don't like most of it still. ;)
I need new house for books :D Hello, there!! I stopped watching Sherlock at 2nd season. Somehow I couldn't catch up xD
You started early as me :) I read from when I was 5 years old. It was and IS my favorite way to spend time ^^ You know? From hyped books I read only Harry Potter ^^ It was good, tho not my favorite series ever ^^ I also read A Song of Ice and Fire but 9 years before the TV series, so I don't know if I can call it "the hype books"... I love fantasy most and almost don't read any other genre since few years. I know I limit myself but I just adore fantasy and always find a worthy book from this genre :)
You haven’t missed much, season 3 just came out :P lol
I thought that 3rd was released long time ago ^^
Hmm maybe it was but I just watched the third season, just got released on netflix :P Nevermind just watched season 4 lol!!
Lucky you that you have Netflix, I have no hopes of getting it ^^ I like Sherlock but for me the best Sherlock Holmes is the one with Jeremy Brett :)
Huh idk if I have ever seen him as Sherlock :O
It's very cool version of classic Sherlock Holmes :) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086661/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090509/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098765/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108855/
