Let me say first and foremost that Masquerade on here is probably my favorite event and the one time where I do try to get heavily into the event because I enjoy it so much.

This year, not so much.

I'm missing out on dances because of ridiculous errors that I would have thought wouldn't even exist or since they're so heavily event-hobbling, they would have been fixed the second they started popping up. I've missed out on a grand total of all but one dance that I've been invited to because Subeta decides to 504 me, give me a gateway error and insists that I haven't been invited to dance so I wind up looking like a class A jerk because I'm missing out on returning dances.

I have to double click to even get the invite to work from my end when I'm the one doing the asking to dance, which either takes me back a page or outright to the news page. Wtf is that even???

And the fact that it seems to be unaddressed at this point is kind of infuriating. I just want to dance. :c

Not getting any errors since yesterday when masq started. D: Are there rotating servers with some people getting glitches and lag? That sucks, man.

I am too getting terrible lags while sending and accepting dance invites and I hope this is just a temporary issue. The last events went so smoothly...

I'm getting lag for inviting and accepting as well. It was fine for me this morning, UK time.

I'm getting errors too, but not on every dance acceptance and request. However even though I get the error, apparently the request or acceptance is pulled through...i.e., even though it shows an error I still manage to send the dance request or accept one.

That's news to me, last I saw anything on these issues... there was no acknowledgement from the staff. My apologies if I sounded like I was throwing a tantrum but I felt like I wasn't being heard.

Keep in mind: This is day one. Historically, the first few days of any event are rough on Subeta - things have been better recently, but the fact that there have been so few errors is actually more surprising to me than the current handful of errors we're seeing :v (tbqh, I laughed when Masq started but masks weren't working, because that's just... subeta in a nutshell.)

Not that it isn't frustrating, but give it a day or two - besides, you are still getting trinkets for dances, even if you get a 504 when you accept the dance, and dance requests are going through, even if the page just reloads. <3 (If you're not sure, click 'dance' again after the page reloads; it should tell you how long you have left.)

ETA: I DO hope they get the 504s fixed, because I want the chance to duel that bro >: v

I know that Amber was trying to answer as many boards as she could in P&B last night (I was asleep but I saw the chaos when I got up). And no worries! We know how frustrating it can get. I just wanted to post because I know they are actively working on it.

I wouldn't have minded if I was getting the trinkets from the dances but I wasn't getting anything at all except errors and blank pages. Hence my irritation at the entire thing.

Giving up dancing for now. Can't participate in contests because my tokens/dances are being eaten away. Keep getting blank pages, eternal loading and 504.

Oh well.

Yup same as , I've given up, can't dance, too many errors. Not my idea of a fun event ^_^

Guess I'll spend my online time elsewhere, as per usual these days.

This year's Masquerade is probably better if it started and ended later, despite eager dancers wanted to get started. It looks like it wasn't fully prepared. It's pretty close, but still not completely ready to go. Yes, we have the same potential issues of lag, glitches, downtime, and the site breaking. However, the new wardrobe also makes this year different. I felt something between the staff was missing, because the masks weren't working for everyone, and the ballroom's strange HAs breaks the immersion of the dance. It's like being handed over a project which you don't have all the instructions from the previous members who worked on it. I think it has the potential to be an amazing year though, if the flaws are overlooked and we aren't preoccupied with them. I mean, look at all the lovely items!

Lag sucks and I'm glad it's been noted and getting worked on, but...this pretty much happens every year, and it always gets better by day two or three, so I guess I'm taking a more philosophical approach to it. I think there was one year when the site went down entirely if I'm remembering correctly, and then another year when no one could get to the ballroom floor (or am I misremembering and it wasn't enabled until later)?

I'm glad we can at least sort of dance!
