would the Display Gauge count as a 'mask' for the purposes of the event? I'm kind of interested in taking advantage of the cyberpunk theme the mods teased us about.
I believe it has to have the word 'mask' in the item name to count as a mask for dancing, but CWs do not count.
Rats.
The only way to be sure other than trying it is to go to Subetalodge.org, and in the item search enter "Masquerade approved" in the note search field.
you should be able to use an item with 'mask' in the name hidden underneath your base or a bg item, if you still want to make an outfit with the display gauge..
You don't really need to check Subetalodge anymore for approved masks. We made it easier on everyone last year by making it to where any item with the word 'mask' in it works. Here's a news post about it.
Thanks :) I missed the dance last year and wasn't aware of the change.
There are still non "Mask" items that are Masquerade approved, for example: Amethyst Masque Brass Single Lens Masquerade Eyewear Plume Featherdance Headdress
Also, Subetalodge will need to update its item notes. I see 24 pages of wearable items with "Mask" in the name and 20 pages of "Masquerade Approved" items. (can you notify the staff who handles this?)
thank you, I'll get on this right away
Our Lair is proof you don't have to stand face to face to know you've got friends who stand with you when you need us.

You're probably getting tired of being asked about masks, but what about items that are NOT face layer? For example:
Just want to be sure before I complete the updating at SubetaLodge.

Literally any item with the word 'mask' in it works. :) Doesn't matter what layer or rarity.
Great Thanks!

As far as CWs go, they do work: see this recent thread here. :)
