I think the best birthday present I've been involved in as a giver was as part of a birthday cabal with a bunch of others where we got tons of art for our friend as well as rotating profiles, and did a massive online birthday card too. It was a day of surprises!

I've received many awesome gifts, but one of the most special is from one of my friends here who wrote and recorded a little song for me. It was so special and kind, and I will always treasure it.

Luminaire 2015 I had recently gotten into CWs so I had CW gifts from one person and gave none. This past Lumi, however, I got gifts from several people, and was able to commission a special gift to give out.
It makes me really happy the friends I have made in the CW community and I hope to continue to make more friends!

So a couple years ago, I had gone through a really, really though time and I had one friend who consistently was there for me and we would spend hours talking to each other on skype and she's seriously one of the best friends that I've ever had. We're not close anymore, but probably the most fun I've ever had getting Luminaire presents was for her. I spent somewhere around $100 on CWs that year, and I'm pretty sure she's the only one I bought CWs for but I just remember how much happiness I felt when she got to open her tree and got all her presents. It made me feel so good to be able to give back in a way that I could for everything that she'd done for me. I love getting people presents, but this was honestly the best Luminaire/Christmas I've ever had. Listening to her reaction over skype was the best present I could have asked for, tbh. the next year i sent her like 200 nico bobbleheads on top of her real present and that was freaking hilarious.

oh my gosh i have so many incredibly generous friends on here that just thinking of one gift story is incredibly hard!! one that i'm especially grateful for was when i was gifted - a tribute to one of my most beloved books, the horrifically weird House of Leaves ^__^ i'm also really glad that it started off a friendship between myself and the lovely gift giver. i really really really have so many similar stories & i don't want anyone to feel i'm leaving them out if they read this & are a friend! you are all wonderful <3

Event 4: I love exchanging gifts with my friends during luminaire. I love leaving presents under their trees and thinking how happy they are when they finally get to open their gifts. My favorite memory was giving my friend a very rare and hard to find beanbag to help her complete her collection. I can't remember now how I even found it because there were none for sale in shops nor trades, I think it was a retired BHH item, but I had managed to get my hands on a copy. She was very excited and couldn't believe how I even managed to find one. She was even more excited when she completed her beanbag collection shortly after that :D

I don't really have a gifting story here. It's kind of conceited to talk about the gifts I've given, and I give a lot of gifts because I enjoy doing it. But I don't really receive gifts either. xP My best friend commissioned a cw tribute for my doggie that passed away a week ago today. That was a nice and thoughtful gift. It made me cry but the good kind.

Event The last Luminaire, it was the first time I've had friends on Subeta (besides my husband, lol) so it was fun to get gifts for all of them and actually be surprised by them (there was one Lumi when I only got the Melody's presents, lmao). Also one of my kitties died 2 days before Christmas and everyone were extra nice and kind with me. So yeah, it was heartwarming to spend my first Luminaire surrounded by so much love. <3

I think Subeta is really lucky to have so many kind and generous people out there (and imaginative ones, going from the anon gifting boards xD) One of my favorite experiences on the receiving end was when I was talking about how I liked a certain item but wasn't sure which recolor I wanted to go for/was my favorite. And then next thing I knew, there was an incoming gift with this item in all the recolors. (Thankfully, this was a Subeta item and not an CW item b/c that would have been crazy) But I thought it was a really sweet gesture, and I was so surprised.

aw, this is super cute! ❤️ i think my most memorable one would be a couple years ago, back when i'd first gotten a chicken (who i loved and adored and basically became my small feathery child) someone gifted me a and that's pretty much my favorite item i own ❤️ several of the birds in the overlay look like birds i've owned in those couple years (especially the brown one standing in the door of the coop, it looks a lot like missy!) and that first bird that i had, lacey, laid eggs that were blue-green like the farthest left one in the CI!

(i'm just entering for a shot at a slot since i like the color, i already won a prize i wasn't expecting!)

The best gift I have received on subeta, would have to be the friends I have made here. Especially two beautiful women that are no longer with us, that took me under their wing when I first started many years ago. So in honor of the gift they gave me, I "pay it forward" with as many new users as I can :)
