Been doing a lot of color layering lately...
Put on top of on top of behind mixed with on top to create a more continuous dress type look: Private Outfit
Also discovered that if you layer on top of it almost perfectly matches : Private Outfit

When I was looking for a mask, I noticed under makes a longer, tied bandana
and its recolors can be layered under or other dresses and skirts, to give the illusion of petticoats.
Items can be worn over if you just want a black bustle.

+plumps up the so sweet lips. Works with all colors

+the top and tatoo kinda fade into eachother giving a neat effect

+ gives the hydra shoes a more solid look and gives them a back
I made an avatar using mostly restockable items, making it look interesting through layering, so imma share some of the layering tricks I used :)

Different variations are also possible, the sheer pantyhose is always great for adding different tints!

The tiered skirts are generally really great for layering, they also go well with the Circle Skirts or the Lovingly Laced Layering Tanks!
This one's actually kind of ridiculous (and still isn't 100% flawless], but the Long Dancer Wig just wasn't cutting it for me (where's the volume at).

You could probably eliminate some of these if you wanted to, but personally I found they all made minute differences. Both of the nourishing oils kind of created a feathered hairline, if you're wondering!

I've found Winter Day Lip Balm to be really useful under non-neutral lip tones to make the mouth look fuller

The Cinders and Scales Eye kit is surprisingly useful when you want to add a little color to natural skin tones. The Lash and Shadow sets in all of their colors are incredibly useful for just adding color, depth, and softness to what would otherwise be very hard-lined eyes.

I really like adding some sort of texture to the skin. I think it goes a long way. Dunno if someone might find this useful!

I layer a combination of The halloween Curious Little Terra doll over the white () base with the muscle tonics.

You can layer blushes/lips over the top or under the doll to tone them down or alter their color slightly. This is handy when you want to layer a few blushes and not end up with the 3 year old run amok with make up look.
For a dark base I use base 10 with the Curious little Lilith doll as a base layer, the muscle tonics over that and the curious little terra doll over the muscles

Again you can tone blushes/lips under the terra doll. I do recommend making sure your nose is layered over the top of the terra dolls, they become hard to see under 'em c:
The best part these are all sp items and pretty inexpensive, yay!

Put behind the HA base, then put on top. It's sort of the same look the gee wilikers wig has, but creates more forehead showing.

Hmmm... what would be really great if we could find out what hairs would layer well with the new Vesnali hair extensions.
After messing around in my wardrobe these are the wigs that are close enough in color to work with the hair pieces from esther's. Also a seperate section with redeemed hairs that fit with the hair pieces.

Anyway, I'm somehow a bit irked by the bald part, so I took version and tinkered with it:
