wish I could have gone to my local (Seattle) but I was flat-out with the flu that day and most of last week. disappointed 'blehhhh' face
So I found out a thing and I know that the internet isn't going to be happy with me for posting this at all: apparently, prolifers were told not to join in because pro life and all that. I was under the impression that the women's marches around the world were open to everyone and that feminism was for all women, regardless of other personal beliefs. :
I'm not going to engage in any sort of reply for people going, "OH ARE YOU PRO LIFE THEN?" Because I am, in the sense that a woman shouldn't be damned to stigmas and there should be a life after the baby's born, it shouldn't be "Let's get the kid here and forget everything that comes after."

I went to my local march. It was uplifting and fantastic. I'm energized and motivated now.
Because the march was about women's rights, INCLUDING the right to having an abortion.
If there was a equal rights march dedicated to PoC, people that didn't condone violence against PoC but still thought races 'shouldn't mix' wouldn't be welcomed.
I'm not really saying otherwise other than I find it disheartening to find out that it's a case of "EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Except you." Again.

It's not 'everyone is welcome' it's 'everyone that holds our ideals is welcome'. The right to an abortion is one of that biggest issues in women's rights, it goes without saying that the average women's rights group/march is going to be promoting pro-choice and be against pro-life.
I'm not having this argument here.
It's still a very telling sign. Whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

A telling sign of what? That they have specific ideals and rights they're fighting for and someone with opposing ideals isn't going to be welcomed? You're complaining that they didn't make a very large exception for a group of people that directly opposed one of the biggest things they're fighting for.
After Steve Bannon's comments, I think everyone should march on Washington. All inclusive. Just start marching.
I get the need to pinpoint specific issues be it women's rights or (now) science, but eh. Only way to show the numbers is to make it about everything. Get everyone marching.
Doomsday clock just moved to 2.5 minutes. Love how considerate the people were and said oh let's just move it 0.5 minutes not to be overly dramatic about it. But shit, son. 2.5 minutes. where's my lovely r.e.m. song
Pro lifers they have the right to never ever have an abortion they are not told they have to have an abortion. To control other women and make decisions for their life thats overstepping. I mean I love babies and personally I would never have an abortion because I just would never want to do that but I do not judge people on the difficult choice that they have to make for their life. I am not in their shoes and I won't condemn them or show hatred toward them for that. Why would you want to be apart of a march were there is going to be people who you do not agree with on that I mean if you are going to go there to just bash them and put up signs calling them murderers then obviously they are not going to be very welcoming. I mean if you really wanted to go you could of went and just supported all the other parts of the march that you agree with but those people didn't want to join because of the abortion part so yeah.
