When my boyfriend and I purchase a house, I plan to keep bees. I'm a little concerned about bears to be honest. Quite a few on them in the Rocky Mountains. I doubt they would be as docile as Pooh Bear lol.

Apparently bears are a really big problem for beekeepers. Maybe you can research how to keep your hives safe while you are house-hunting. :) Also, like a dolt I forgot to tell you that we have an activity going on right now under the Spell Share thread on the group boards.

I should! Hopefully by being farther away from the woods. We'll see though! And fantastic, after I cook and clean up, I'll check it out!

I use a circle of electric stock fence in the Summer and Fall, to protect my apple trees from Booger, and it seems to be working.
I was all "Ooh!" and "Ahh!" when I first saw her eating the wild berries in my yard. But that quickly turned to annoyance when she decided that my yard was a safe space to drag the neighbors garbage to tear apart and eat in peace. Protective spells, a paintball gun and a determined harassment of my neighbors about their garbage has eased that problem up. Now it's respect and admiration to share space with an amazing creature..., as long as I can keep her from destroying my lawn furniture. I do have to admit, I was shocked and a little fearful when i discovered her sleeping under my deck tho. So far she hasn't been a threat, but I keep my eyes peeled when I go out the front door now. The snow is so deep, she'll have quite a job digging out before spring thaw..., but bears are designed for that.

Yikes! Under the deck seems a little close for comfort! When I lived way up in the mountains here, we had a small black bear that occasionally sauntered through our yard on its way to the creek, but only very rarely, and nowhere near that close. It was cool, but a bit concerning...bear hunting is still legal in PA, so they tend to stay far away from people here.

Hello everyone! I just spent far too long making a simple css profile. Probably because I haven't done any coding in 3 years. How is everyone doing tonight?

I've spent years trying to learn how to code a simple css profile, and I still haven't learned, so good on you for actually making something. Do you use a tutorial, or do you actually know coding? I had a very bad day because I fainted in public today-and I mean smelling salts and the whole nine yards. I'm looking forward to a quiet night of Subeta and maybe a little TV. How are you tonight?

I taught myself code from my Neo days, but Subeta's is a tad different so I had to follow a few guides to get the outcome! I'm sorry to hear that you fainted today. I hope everything is alright? Relaxing sounds like just what you need! Do you know what caused your fainting spell?

Something is wrong with me, but we don't know what it is yet. I just went through 2 weeks of pretty extensive testing, so hopefully, when my neurologist gets the results, we will know something. On No, I could at least use a decent template and get some kind of result, but on here, the only template I can find, I seem to be too thick-headed to figure out, so I have to save up and pay coders. Maybe I'll try to learn again, I'm always willing to try even if I don't succeed. Did you make a pet profile or a user profile? Can we see it, please?

Oh no, that's scary. I hate waiting for test results. I went through the same thing when they were trying to figure out how my cancer had evolved. D: Fingers crossed the tests come back with good answers. As for the profile, it's the one I currently have up. I can't do graphic design or anything, so I just worked on changing up the base coding. I'm thinking off trying my hand at something more elaborate in the future, but I'm not too terribly confident!

It looks nice. I like your cute blinking stars links...that could not have been easy. Yeah, the waiting is scary, but they are doing what is called subtractive diagnosis, so they are trying to eliminate many conditions because they suspect that I have something that can not be tested for directly so they are eliminating stuff right now. She thinks it might be Parkinson's, but it is not behaving exactly correctly, so I get all this. I'm sorry you had cancer, I went through that about 16 years ago, and it was a huge scary pain, but it looks like we are both still here to tell the tale, so it could have been worse.

Aw, thank you. I like the simplicity. Nothing too fancy. Oh gosh. Sorry you are having to deal with that. I hope it's not Parkinson's, but at least it's more manageable these days than in the past. We are, so all we can do is look ahead! I try not to think about it much and focus on what's going well in my life now. c:

Yep. I try to stay positive and keep looking and moving ahead. There are a lot of positive things in my life right now, and I like to pour my energies in that direction. I genuinely believe that if you tend to the positive things in your life, they will spread and grow...my kids say I treat good things like houseplants-always watering, always putting them in a sunny place. My kids are old enough now that they can think I'm daft and it doesn't hurt my feelings. :)

Leave it to the kids! LOL! I think it's great that you think that way. Being around pessimists all the time can really take a toll on you.

Negative energy is poisonous IMHO. When you are surrounded by negative people it really limits you, and it can be disastrous for your own outlook. My daily prayer is to not lose my sense of humor. Laughing at negativity robs it of its power, but, honestly, avoiding it altogether is even better.

What is good in your life right now?

Hey everybody! I saw the Pagan Alliance graphic in the Survival kissing forums, and thought I'd check y'all out - thanks for accepting my request to join, .

My name is Sam. I'm 25, and I guess you could say my path is Hellenic polytheism, but with heavy use of witchcraft and ties to nature symbolism. I used to be really close with the pagan community on tumblr, but as I stopped visiting, we drifted apart. I miss having other pagans with whom I can talk spells/altars/practices. If I see a red-tailed hawk, I know it's going to be a good day. I collect ingredients for spells; the most prized possessions in my chest are either cattle teeth I found at Cape Sounion's Temple of Poseidon, or self-harvested hawk veins from a carcass I found on a walk one day. I believe that faith is an incredibly personal facet of our lives, and being able to share beliefs with one another celebrates our individuality and makes us stronger.

I look forward to chatting with everyone more! <3

Merry Meet !

It sounds like you live in a good place for collecting spell ingredients! We are slowly getting this community rolling along. We usually have a weekly themed discussion on the spellshare thread, but I decided to take the week off because everyone is finishing up with Survival, but we'll be back next week with a new topic. We have a very diverse little community coming together, and it's good to have you.

Thank you for the warm welcome! <3 I do live in a good place for ingredient collection, excusing the trip to Greece, obviously, haha. I live in Kentucky and usually look at the ground when I walk anyway, so I'm always finding bird corpses and seeds and stuff like that. It's nice!

I'm very excited about the diversity cropping up in here - I read through the introduction threads, and am ready to make friends and share ideas!

Then you are not too far from me. I'm in Western PA.

I always look at the ground when I walk, and I can find amazing ingredients that way, too. I'm always amazed and delighted to see what nature will willingly provide. I have drawers full of goodies that I have gleaned, and they always come in handy. I'm a great one for bringing home sticks and stones, and plant cuttings to add to my garden.

Do you have any advice for cleaning items you find, such as feathers and bones? I seem to come across these objects a lot, but am never sure how to make sure they're safe to take home. Right now I have a opossum skeleton above my refrigerator... hahaha.
