Ideas for Workshops
((This spoiler is specifically for ideas brought up by members that interest them or for others to use and develop later in the term/s))
Gaia grinned in Merlin's direction "You know, you can nap while we wait for the others to show up. You should also remind your snake not to disturb the presentation when you are distracted and don't notice you sat on your robes and your snakes gets out. It will really help to avoid the 20 minutes it will take to catch it." Gaia winked and called out to Magnus "Could you bring out some of the blankets from under the desk in front? I brought a box and forgot to place them our for those who stay cold." Gaia returned her attention to the entrance where more students where piling in.
(( ))
Gaia turned her attention to Merlin () "Seer." tapping her temple "an active one at that. I didn't read your mind. I did see you knocking over a few students trying to catch him. Just trying to avoid it." Gaia spoke to () next "You might want to stay away from the brown and spongey orange cakes if you don't like vegetables. They are a vegan option for our students. However the ones with white frosting are delicious. They have custard in the center." Gaia gave a quick nod and moved closer to the entrance.
(( Apparently non of the options are working here. Probably will once they get fixed or we get to the second page))
[edit] Scratch that as soon as I posted i saw all the posts! ❤
"Thank you Magnus! You are awesome!" Gaia waved her wand muttering a charm under her breath and the blankets folded neatly forming a stack on the chair. "Oh yes! I made sure to ask the house elves for special mini cakes and some sweets. There are some flour-less cakes and the blue tray is gluten free. If I am not mistaken there should be some fruits delivered later today." Gaia smiled and scanned the room. A lot of brave students interested in workshops. "Oh yes, you are here on time! We are giving a few minutes for everyone to join us and settle before the presentation." ( )
"You are most welcome Eirik! Hope you find some you like." As she returned to welcome student he showed up; rolling her eyes she waved him in completely ignoring him like she was trying to stop a bug from bothering her, then his bag hit the floor and Gaia just starred. -sigh- louder she said "We will be begin soon. Just allowing for other students to make it in time for introductions and the beginning of the workshop. Fell free to ask any question you might want to ask before we begin."
(( I know the forums are all messed up. This workshop will adapt as we move along. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.))
"It seems I made it here on time for a party!" Lydia said loud enough that everyone turned in her direction. She grinned and hugged Gaia "Thank you for having me. Sorry I am late. Seems you forgot to tell someone to open the gate!" She laughed and handed her a bag of nuts "Your favorite!" With a wink Lydia walked further in the tent smiling at everyone as she walked "Well... you guys know how to party. Clubs in my time weren't this much fun. Not that I am that old!"
Lydia made her way to the desk and addressed the group. "Hello everyone! My name is Lydia Kerr or better known as "The NUT Lady". You might have seen my work and even tasted it! We have a complete line in Honeydukes and we also have a world delivery service." Lydia set her basket on the desk and immediately it was filled with nut bags and boxes. "You see workshops work like a business. You do research, you prepare, and you run it. Even though I am a business witch, I am also a savvy presenter, when I first started growing my grandmother's company I needed investors and contributors for my world delivery services. This allowed me to learn the ways of a great presentation and using my abilities to educate others while also marketing my business." Lydia took a look at the crowd of students "I can always teach you how to work on your business, but for now I am here to talk workshops, brainstorming, and content! Are there any questions so far?"

"Cooperative in what way? It would really depend on what the issue is. Not all groups will behave the same way but if you have examples in minds we can work them out and go from there." She paused and laughed "Well! Hogsmeade has become a well balanced food market. There are the oldies but goodies like Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop, Hogs Head, and the Three Broomsticks, but let's face it the village was not foodie friendly! That is why The Porto's and the Pavia twins decided to establish their roots in Hogsmeade. Have you visit the restaurants yet?" ()
Lydia laughed "Let me guess... you enjoy food? Perhaps cooking? What are your favorite nuts?" Before Poppy could answer Lydia continued "See, that tells me you think quick on your feet and have no trouble confronting issues head on. Conflict will always arise when having different personalities involved. It is always wise to asses the situation quickly and efficiently. There was a meeting I lead once." Lydia propped herself in front of the desk as she spoke "Where I needed to convince 5 different shop owners to allow my then small company into their shops. An argument erupted as I finished between 4 of them. They were arguing which one was better to launch my line. Usually this is a great type of argument only it stopped being about my product and opportunities and about them. I quickly assessed and made my decision. First I took a step back and commanded the attention to myself and then I asked them to take a seat." Lydia smiled "Mind you I was 19 and these were all older business owners. I took a deep breath and thanked them for their time, but I was not interested in their partnership. I quickly realized I still wanted my business to be family oriented and no one was giving me that. Right there I chose the one owner who kept his patience and gracefulness through it all. The owner of Honeydukes!" Lydia pushed herself from the desk and walked towards the girl "even when you are at a disadvantage keep calm and assess. There is always a solution. If it gets out of hand separate them and assign corners. Timeouts are always acceptable!" Lydia laughed "There is no right or specific way to handle heated situations. This workshop will give you all the tools you need to handle situations quickly and allow you to respect others and be respected. We will circle back to this later in the workshop once we have talked about other situations. Sometimes you as a captain won't even notice a situation is in fact happening until it is too late. We will talk about body language and preventive ways to avoid difficult situations before they happen."

((OOC: It seems I am missing a huge chuck of information here. I know workshops are new and we are all getting our footing. I am also not understanding what is going on. What is the Council? What is going on?))
- or anyone that can tell me because I am super lost right now.
(( I know I have chatted with you and I have kept up with some of the stuff happening, but I do also oversee the other houses and RPs so there will be times when I am completely out of the loop. Now all I think of is Draco's gang and how much trouble you all will get in. Specially now that I know of the council.))
(( I am deleting all the OOC posts in a few minutes and keep some in case anyone gets confuse and can't see pings XD but I wanted to give you a heads up as I am moving forward with the RP. Thank you for taking the time to explain!))
"ENOUGH!" Gaia shouted from the entrance and the tent went dark the only source of light was the colorful fireplace. In the silence you could hear the soft step moving towards the desk in the back of the tent "It seems we have encountered some issues in this workshop. It would seem some of you are determined to make Hogwarts, our headmistress, and ME look bad in front of our guest speaker. This workshop is design to respect each other and their ideas. We strive to build each other up and contribute in a positive way." She was standing directly in front of the desk facing everyone. "It seems it is time I join in the fun. Would you agree, Lydia?"
((@/poppet ;) @/raven @/fable @/nik Enjoy the rare times Gaia shows any anger XD))
Gaia grabbed something from her bag and walked towards Magnus "Here." She handed him the small vial and went to get some tea for him. "I was wondering Lydia, what happens if the Captain loses interest in their subject? What should they do?" Before Lydia could reply she turned her attention to the group "What would you all do if you lost interest in your own workshop?" handing Magnus his tea she walked towards the desk again.
She looked towards the voice "I waved my wand." Gaia looked at and winked "sometimes Captains need to do the unexpected and sometimes they keep their tricks a secret."
((to clarify Gaia only yelled enough. The rest was in a normal voice. Come on Gaia would never lose her cool............ much))
Gaia tossed a small bag of pecan at Eirik "heads up." Then she started pacing as she talked, "but what happens if you run out of interesting stuff or have people who are already done with the subject. Put yourself in a creative place and come up with what you would do. Even when passionate about a subject obstacles can come up and being able to work around them makes all the difference in success or failure." She turned her attention for a moment "Poppy what would you do if you lost interested or ran out of things to do with your workshop? This is just an example and we can build from it."
(( ))
Gaia looked pleased "It seems we have some perspective now. We have established that" The chalk started scribbling on the blackboard as Gaia paced " a captain needs to be prepared. Have contingency plans, different ways to explain their subject, and experience and vast knowledge of the subject at hand." The chalk kept listing on the blackboard "Basing off from Poppy's idea bringing someone in to give you a break is an acceptable way to handle situations like getting stuck or having to revise your plans and ideas. Eirik is also right! Asking questions to the members will help keep everyone attentive and allow you to assess the success of your workshop and give you time to redirect your point or use a different technique."
Gaia looked at her friend and smile "Adaptability!" more scribble on the blackboard "It is one of the most important aspects of being a Captain. You won't always have control or know everything on a subject, but if you can quickly adapt I can assure you, you will have a successful workshop." She gave everyone time to catch up and take notes.

"Excellent idea!" Lydia said "There are some nuts here for you all. Go ahead and take a few minutes. To those of you interested in the art section go ahead and explore. If you feel inclined draw."
((This works because I am about to pass out! I will get back on tomorrow and keep the RP going!))
Gaia used the break to get some stuff sorted and grabbed her bag. "Hey guys!" She said addressing her friends "Sorry about earlier Fade () I didn't mean to scold you. I just wanted you to wait. I had gotten you and Magnus () some markers. We got them at one of the muggle shops we visited. They are called Copic markers. The cashier said they are great for artists and even included water brushes for blending! I could only afford 2 packs of 24 markers, but I am sure you will both enjoy them!" Gaia walked back to the desk before anyone said anything and made her way to the coffee table. She made a coffee for herself and one for Lydia who was sorting her nuts bags for the next workshop round.
Gaia giggled at Poppy's word "I didn't mean to be so scary, but it seemed some needed a good attention grabber. The art supplies are for you all to use. It can help in creating and planning. The supplies came from the Hogwarts supply closet. I asked if I could have some to give students and here we are. Is there anything in particular you want?" Gaia turned to Eirik and tried not looking hurt by his words "Thank you for coming. you and Fable bring an interesting perspective I will miss. I need to go talk to Lydia about the next part of the workshop." Gaia walked away before anything else could be said. Then she realized Fable was talking to Lydia and caught part of the conversation. Why is this happening? I wasn't mean or attack a certain group. I am confused. "Here are some of the rolls of parchment you needed, Lydia. Hope you feel better Fable." Gaia felt defeated and only mastered a small smile. She excused herself and left the tent for the bathroom.
(( ))
"Of course I am." Gaia gave her friend a smile. "You know me! Nothing a pop can't solve!" Gaia unwrapped an acid pop she had in her pocket. "The lemon water is delicious!" Gaia said turning to see Poppy walking away with a glass.
