Metamorphs are super uncommon, just saying ;) unless you meant animagus. I double checked and Lee said nothing about either :) ))

The Lee dog continued to growl, but held his ground in front of Charlotte. The statue didn't seem to be moving, but he knew there was something very wrong and dangerous with it, he just couldn't tell what. All his instincts said to kill it, but his mind overruled that. Why would he want to kill a statue...? Unless...

Lee stopped growling and took a closer look at it, sniffing, ready in an instant to attack if it moved.

As Charlotte was looking at the statue her tail was suddenly around something...different then Lees wrist. She turned and saw the huge dog growling. It made her tail and hair poof and her claws extend.

She went running back to Lenore repeating "no no nO NO NO NO! BIG DOG BIG DOG!!" Clearly in the situation of the unusual statue, Lee's changing had startled her.

Charlotte ran past Lenore her tail snatching Cricket and Toots and she easily climbed up on of the long emerald curtains by a window. 'Height is safety...." she thought.

Drew Wilder returned to the Slytherin common room from the workshop he'd attended about the different wizarding schools with a smile on his face. He'd enjoyed the information but more than that the interaction...and the food. He'd come away with a new friend, several potential friends, and pockets full of some of the food samples that Millie had 'forced' on him. As he entered the room, he got a strong whiff of sweetness that reminded him of the fair. And then...his eyes widened. There was a large dog in the room, a new student he'd never seen, and a...a something clinging to the curtains with another dog and a...was that a kiwi bird?? What the heck was going on??

The dog looked up at Charlotte running away, and up the curtains. Had he frightened her..? Then a new person came into the common room from outside, and he was starting to feel outnumbered. He growled again in warning.

The scene quickly becomes chaotic. Lenore watches as Charlotte bolts, the animals vanish (she hadn't seen Charlotte scoop them up) and another person enters the room. At least the dog, er, Lee wasn't growling anymore. Nope, the growling is back again. Something seriously needs to be done about this. She speaks to the newcomer but doesn't take her eyes off Lee and the statue. "Lenore. I'll get your name later." Though calm in difficult situations, Lenore seems to lose all ability to communicate properly or politely when she's focused.

Drew stopped as the large dog began to growl. He glanced over at the other student, who had her wand drawn and said quietly, "Nice to know you, Lenore. I'm Drew. Not sure what's going on, but you might want to put that away. He's feeling threatened." He nodded toward the dog. Knowing dogs a bit due to Dodger, Drew eased to his knees, and slowly extended his hand toward the dog. "Easy now, boy," he said softly. "I'm not going to hurt you. Whose pup are you? I haven't seen you around before. It's alright. I won't let anyone hurt you and we'll find out who you belong to." Drew knelt in a non-threatening position and waited for the dog to make the first move hoping that the move wouldn't be to rip out his throat.

Lenore holds her ground as Drew kneels down but reluctantly lowers her wand. She doesn't put it away and her fist is clenched rather tightly around it. "Drew, he's a student." she says quietly.

Charlotte was clinging to the curtain rod....somewhere far back in her head was 'Wow this is a really sturdy curtain rod' but at the moment she was trying to protect the pets in her tail and herself. 'Was the statue cursed??? OMG THE STATUE CURSED LEE!!!!!'

It didnt take her long to call out to the other students. "DONT GO NEAR THE STATUE!!! I THINK IT CURSED LEE!!!!" she didnt want the others to get hurt!

Lee stopped growling at the new student Drew as he was appearing non threatening and talking soothingly to him. He shifted and tentatively wagged his tail.

((ooc giant schnauzer, so still big ))

He looked back at the statue and whined, the jumped back a bit when Charlotte yelled out about the statue cursing him. 'Huh...?' he thought, and looked at her curiously, then returned his attention to Lenore and Drew.

Charlotte sat up a bit from her perch and looked down at the Schnauzer. "Lee? Is that yous? Are yous ok?" in the stressful situation her bad speech pattern that Lee had been working on her with had returned.

She was still poofy but slowly coming around.

Drew heard Lenore's quiet comment and threw her a quick glance. "Come again?" he said, his eyes going back to the dog and widened. "He's a..." he stopped as the girl...thing...on the curtain screamed out a warning about a cursed statue. He looked around and then saw the figure in the corner beyond the dog. Frowning, Drew thought to himself that it looked very like a girl he'd seen before.

"Um...Lenore...can you try to get the...girl," he wasn't sure what the other being was and didn't want to be rude, "that curtain won't hold forever, even if she is pretty small. I'll try to take care of the dog...student...Lee," he said remembering the name that had been yelled.

Turning his attention back to Lee, Drew smiled at the slight wag. "That's it. Hi, Lee. I'm Drew. I've got a dog named Dodger that I bet you'd like. Why don't we go meet him and leave that ugly old statue where it is huh? What do you say?"

The sound of his name was starting to register with him, and it dawned on Lee that this situation had gotten out of control, that he had lost control. He immediately shifted up into his human form.

He looked at Drew, Lenore then Charlotte. "Sorry about that. There is something really wrong with whatever that creature is back there...it's definitely not a statue, " he said quietly. "I'm ok Charlotte, sorry if I scared you, or any of you."

Lenore sees that Drew has made progress and is quick to obey this time. She moves to the curtain and summons a footstool to stand on then tucks her wand back in her pocket. Reaching up she says with a bit of her Irish accent showing "Come on Charlotte. This was all about the statue, remember? We don't need to be afraid o' Lee. Now, shall I be taking the animals or you?"

Drew rocked back on his heels as Lee the dog became Lee the student. "Um...hi," he said lamely. Getting to his feet, he shook his head and said, "Well, I wanted adventure and stories to tell about Hogwarts and I have one now for sure." He glanced back at the supposed statue. "You're right, Lee..it's not a statue. I've seen her before. In fact...I think she was in the workshop that I attended earlier."

Charlotte looked at Lenore then at Lee and then at the boy she hadnt met yet. She was slowly calming down and getting embarrassed.

She lowered her long tail first so that Lenore could take the animals. Then gracefully climbed down, clearly having done this numerous times before. She looked at Lee with her arms crossed. "You told me you was a schnauzer...you...you BARK BRAIN!" she huffed...she wasnt really mad at him. Just embarrassed.

Her ear turned to Drew as he said the statue was a student. "What? It...she is a student?!"
