I too find shopping stressful. I'm ok once I'm there, I just stay on high alert and wait until everyones out of my way. But I get quite anxious leading up to going, and we seem to be eating more than normal at the moment :( It is fairly organised in the supermarkets near me, with most of them operating a one out one in system. I also go fairly late in the afternoon, I've found there are fewer people at that time.
We were naughty today; we accidentally on purpose went for a walk in the same park at the same time as my daughter, her partner and my grandpuppy, keeping a good social distance obviously. It was so nice to see them. I miss my kids soo much, can't wait to have a big family dinner as soon as this is all over. I think there will be many parties :D
Our local stores made lines you're supposed to follow in each isle. So if you need something from isle 3 you may need to go down isle 2 to get around to it - and also wait for anyone in the isle to move along. Then lines takes forever to check out.
We are having a hard time with stuff being out of stock too. My son ran out of two of his foods and both were wiped at every store we could find that sells them.
I was having the problem with people passing me in stores at the start too, started getting me too anxious to go out so my hubby has been doing the bulk. The older people were the worst, coming up right next to me :( Employees too at one point. The stores are cracking down more with the new rules but you can only enforce so much and a lot of people up here are starting to get careless and not thinking it's a big deal anymore.
Being outside and within the safe range isn't bad! We need social bonds <3 I am glad you got to see them. ^_^
Ah it sounds like your stores have a much more concrete plan for enforcing social distancing, which is great! Here there're just a couple of signs, and a few stickers on the floor for the checkout lines.
I hope we don't loosen up the restrictions, only to pave the way for a second wave...
It's so sad when I think of cases where covid has gotten between families and loved ones! And yes, I feel like meeting outside briefly while still observing distancing is perfectly following the spirit of the rules, if not the letter. California is considering measures to loosen up so small gatherings can be allowed, but I'm not sure if what stage we're at for it. Small gatherings of children became allowed last week though, so kids can be sent to summer camps.
Huh, that is interesting. I wonder if the umbrella works?
The other day in line for the grocery store, I also saw a lady wearing a face mask and swimming goggles; like the slim speedo kind. O.O Also not sure if legit lol...
'accidentally on purpose' snicker Opps....?
In NSW (not too sure of other states) Two adults (and their children, if they have children) can visit another household now. This started on Friday...so we had family friends come over to our place for take away pizza...because we can't go to our pizza restaurant that we normally would go to. They can come to us, but we couldn't go to them...because then it would be three adults. I think they want to lift restrictions on public gatherings 'soon'..and even then, it might only be 10 people...
. A second wave is a big fear for me as well. We all go back too soon and end up back at square one. The UK are around two weeks behind Italy and Spain ( :) ) so I’m keeping a close eye on what happens now they are beginning to lift their restrictions.
The umbrellas made me chuckle :D
So happy for you that you got to have your friends round. As there are three of you does that mean you’ll be doing lots of hosting?
Maybe so! I'm not sure how often we will do it, but I do know we all want to do it again...it was really nice to be able to see people!
I'm doing pretty good, just woke up at this moment haha
I'm kinda on the fence on whether it's too early to lift the restrictions (which I am), so I've still been staying at home. I think I'll be staying at home for at least another month (as much as I can) to be safe :P
But in all honesty, I need things to be a bit better so that they allow transit between cities, so we can go house hunting D:
I've been baking at Fantine's (wanna max out the levels). The lack of ingredients echoes RL a little too much right now lol... "Is anyone selling Yeast Packets? How long do I have to refresh to get a shipment of eggs?" xD
It's not been peaches and cream, but there have been others worse off. Granny is bound determined she's not leaving yet anyways, it's just mostly an annoyance trying to get to her home now. The town she's in is the second highest infected in our state (which my state also has one of the stupidest governors I've seen in awhile, he wants to open everything back up before all the quarantine has ended or slacked off. So now all the other states around us are basically telling us 'don't you freakin' DARE come into our state!'. Granted the humans in this state make me wonder if we shouldn't let them go loose and maybe clean out the damn population. -_-;; ), so it's been totally shut down and we have to reach her from the back roads to her farm so we can bring her groceries and watch after her for the weekend and do her chores.
The worse thing I think I've faced though is the fact all the dog grooming parlors are shut down. I get why they have to be, but I have a miniature poodle, he has to be regularly groomed, and I'm not great at it and he is a brat about it unless it's his favorite groomer cleaning him up (spoiled brat that he is). I got him cleaned up for sanitary reasons and to allow him to see, but geez it's not great XD
I do like all the ordering groceries to your home getting better, I get nervous in crowds so when I shop I almost go into a 'field trip' mode, where I look at everything trying to ignore the other humans around me to keep from freaking. I tend to go to smaller local stores to make it easier on me. Walmart is hell, I have to go with someone in there or I start to panic. I think I'm more annoyed with people not putting on damn masks or using gloves at all, I'm having to do a full on decontamination at home and wearing mask and gloves. (I'm just lucky I'm also a bit of a prepper, I gather masks for allergy seasons and gloves for food prep so I'm not constantly having to wash my hands. And we had a large stockpile of TP, alcohol, hand sanitizer, and Clorox wipes already, again because of allergy season in my family is hell. And my flu during Christmas had us restocked early) I know it's a hassle but seriously, just wear your gloves and masks, it's not like they're asking you to put on a whole hazmat suit. (I kinda wanna buy a hazmat suit now though just to frick with people.)
Okay now I'm just rambling. XD
Oh, I kind of like that umbrella idea! Keeps people away who like to get up in your space xD
We have some ice cream places open and if this weekend is nice, we might take the kids. One person orders then the workers bring your food to your car. They're doing a really decent job.
Today has been a great day so far! I bought 14 books from thriftbooks XD
🌸 || || 🌸
That sounds....Thrifty. :D -slapped with an ear of corn-
OKAY Y'ALL this month I vow I will not spend any more sp and I will add 50m more to my bank. I have this problem where I get to 800m and then get excited and go on a spending spree, which I have just done YET AGAIN x-x so I wanna get to 850m by the end of this month and I'm declaring it here so now you all know lmao.
omg 14 books?? So jealous!!
then the sP Sprint this month would be perfect for you, which I just noticed was not in the 1st of the month announcement, by bad (and sorry for the extra ping)
