I also celebrate Christmas. I think my favorite part is the how giving people are. It seems people are more appreciative this time of year and willing to share the "wealth". My daughter is also a Doctor Who fan..........10th Doctor being her favorite too. I think I am now stuck watching Doctor Who all day lol when I mentioned to her that there was a Doctor Who marathon going on lol
I am 100% in favor of the Winter Solstice too! I'll make sure to do something special for you love!
YAY! Hanukkah loves! You named 2 of my favorite things too, though I honestly adore the lighting of the menorah. It makes me so happy inside. My best friend is also Jewish, which is how I got into celebrating Hanukkah!
There is a group for memebers of Wizarding who are Slytherins yes! We are amazing little loves in that group too. :D I'll make sure to stick a little something something under your tree for Christmas, I'm making a list of who celebrates what so I know who gets stuff under their tree. :)
Oh man, I used to hate doing lights because we had a seriously high roof. The tree was always SUPER fun though. Cocoa, holiday movies, fireplace going...in 80 degree weather. Lol. Texas Christmas was always...interesting.
10th Doctor is 100% the most popular from what I've seen, but I have an undying love for the 9th Doctor. He made me laugh and smile so much. Lol. I do love how generous people can be this time of year, it gives me some faith back in humanity. Now if only we could get that to extend to the rest of the year.... ;)

Happy Hanukkah lovely! Personally I'm not of any faith, but I usually celebrate Christmas. My favourite part of the holiday season is the atmosphere of joy, love, giving, and family. I really love getting to spend time with the people that matter to me, and surprising them with something meaningful on Christmas day.
I used to celebrate Hanukkah with my family. My mom went through, we'll call it a crisis of faith, and for awhile we celebrated the Jewish holidays. My favourite part of it was lighting the candles every night. c:
isn't here much but it'd be awesome if she had something under her tree. c:

Tree pretties it is. :D Spending time with friends and family is always nice, though a little stressful for me sometimes. It is worth it though. Also, love your name. ;)
Tree pretties she shall get! :D I didn't know y'all did that. Super awesome. Then again, I tend to think your mom is pretty cool on most counts anyway. Lol.

I don't celebrate Hanukkah but most of my coworkers do. I celebrate Christmas and my favorite part is being with my family. It's my favorite time of year because everyone is always so happy and I love giving presents to people. Hope you have an amazing Lumi and Hanukkah!!
Thanks for the ping. I celebrate Christmas and what I love the most about it is getting together with the family and gifting them with things they like. I also love the decorations, especially the tree. OH! And don't forget the parrandas- which are sort of like carolers but much wilder. =D
LOL! Actually, it was 2 different ping groups. One for Dragon Age/Mass Effect fans and one for the Wizarding cult house, but yeah. :P We are all nerds here.
o.O You must explain these parrandas to me!
Everyone seems to enjoy being with their family, it is pretty nice. I gotta say, having a bunch of co-workers that celebrate Hanukkah is pretty awesome! My one job is all people who celebrate Christmas and get mad at you if you don't wish everyone a Merry Christmas. :( Not as fun.

Here is a good video that explains Some peple sing better others worse.
Happy Hanukkah!!
I personally dont celebrate Hanukkah but a girl i used to work with did and she always brought in potato pancakes with applesauce, omgosh so yummy!!!
I love the once-a-year goodies we make as a family-from snowball cookies to the huge batches of tamales. & it's things like this--an open giveaway of kindness & celebration--are what I love about this time of year. People are more likely to conscientiously make an effort to be a bit nicer & every little bit counts. I celebrate Christmas & although there's bittersweet feelings, there's a New Year in just a week...though it's all relative in a wibbley-wobbley, timey-wimey sort of way :3 I dunno if I have a favorite Doctor, but my favorite arc so far is the masterpiece that is River Song's story
The food. Whether I'm having roast boar, squash and turnip casserole, and Yulegroed, washed down with warm mead, for a quiet solstice celebration with my husband..., or picking my way through a table groaning under Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, yams, stuffing, green bean casserole, candied carrots, and at least three different kinds of Christmas cakes and puddings so soaked in brandy and rum and to put you over the legal limit just by sniffing them (Not to mention the mulled wine, eggnog and akevitt). The only Chanukah foods I've had the pleasure to enjoy were potato latkes, beef brisket and a yummy crunchy noodle kugel with pecans and cherries. Whatever the celebration, the winter holidays seem to bring out the best in yummy feasts.
Happy Hanukkah:D!
My favourite thing about lumi is seeing my boyfriend open all his presents ❤️! He gets so happy that it makes my entire year <3
I celebrate Christmas but have ALWAYS wanted to try Latkes... maybe one day! my favorite thing about Christmas is the feeling of family, which is hard this year because I'm in a foreign country where they dont celebrate Christmas with just my fiance who is trying to celebrate it with me so I guess that means a lot to me, and I can skype family.
Do you have a newer tv, laptop, hdmi cable, and internet at home on a regular basis? Hook your laptop up to your tv with the HDMA cable if you can and have your family put a laptop at one head of the table so you could see everyone and Skype that way! You could even push your table near your tv and eat dinner with them, depending on the time differences. I'm glad your bf is trying to help you celebrate though, and hopefully making it a little easier being away from your family. TRY THE LATKES! They are true love in your mouth, I promise.
Awh, that is so sweet! I hope he appreciates the thought you put into them all too!!
Oh man, I need to come over to your house for feasts. We just do relatively small gatherings (like...10ish people?) with ham, turkey, stuffing, sweet and mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, mac & cheese, and gravy. I need to try to open my family's horizons on these winter feasts...
Aren't they the best thing ever? I may or may not make something similar all year long. O.O
What are snowball cookies?? And I 100% approve of the tamales, being from Texas I used to know a LOT of people who had those for Christmas dinner instead of ham/turkey. They are always delicious homemade too. I agree, River's arc is probably the best. Though, to be honest, I was never a fan of hers. I'm a Rose girl all the way, lol. That probably explains my favorites Doctors too.

I celebrate Christmas and my favorite part of that is making cookies and being with family. Anything under my tree would be loved and I'll be sure to leave you some things too. c: Merry Luminaire and happy Hanukkah!
Snowball Cookies are shaped into a ball & doused with powdered sugar. You can use any recipe that'll hold together :3
We make the spicy meaty tamales with either a red or green sauce, and some pink sweet tamales with raisins as well as pineapple tamales. It takes all day, but it's sooooo worth it.
Rose, Donna, & Clara are my favorite companions. I'm anticipatory of what they're going to do next...perhaps the next Doctor will be a Doctress. thinks of what Missy would say Although they're used to it; one day you're a man, then the next day you could die and become a woman...though what about pregnant women...I suppose they'd have to regenerate to female? What if the baby dies in utero, does it regenerate? & it's not just they're bodies, they're personalities differ and it makes one think of just who a person really is...Aaaaaanwho, I just think about things. whistles away
