I think my favorite thing to eat around the holidays that's a tree are the chocolate covered cherries with the clear filling.

My father was from Latvia and every Christmas he and mum made Piragi, Latvian Bacon Buns. They are now both dead but my family and I still keep the tradition and the treat of eating them going.
Ingredients
Pastry
1⁄2 cup warm water
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons dry yeast
2 cups whole milk, scalded
1⁄2 cup oil
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 egg yolks
1⁄2 cup butter
2 tablespoons sour cream
6 cups flour
1 egg, beaten
Filling
1 1⁄2 lbs bacon, finely diced
1⁄2 lb ham, finely diced
1 medium onion, chopped finely
salt & pepper
Directions
Fry bacon and ham in pan for about five minutes. Drain and cool in fridge.
Sprinkle yeast over warm water and sugar. let stand 10 minutes.
Scald milk in a saucepan.
Add sugar, salt, and butter. Allow mixture to cool until it is lukewarm.
Add 3 1/2 cups flour, sour cream, egg yolks and yeast.
Beat with spoon until smooth and shiny.
Cover bowl and let rest for 1 hour.
Turn out on floured board and gradually add remaining flour kneading until dough is elastic.
Let rise another 45 mins Preheat oven to 400.
Roll out dough until about 1/4 inch thick.
Cut circles into dough. A small drinking glass is ideal size.
Spoon 1 tsp of filling on to each circle.
Fold over. Press and tuck under seam.
Place rolls on greased cookie sheet and brush with beaten egg.
Let rise about 20 minutes.
bake at 400 for 10 mins or until golden brown.
Now you see why it is a favorite treat cause they are a pain to make.

Day 5
My favourite holiday treat is:
Peanut Butter Delight or as my brother and the rest of our family calls it Peanut Butter Surprise! The blend of whip cream, oreos, and peanutbutter is amazing and I always have to make sure to get at least one piece every year if not more because it's that amazing! <3

Day 5:
I like the Nanaimo bars. They are three layers of chocolate, coconut, custard, sugar and tons of other ingredients. They are a bitch to make but they taste great.

Day 5: My favorite holiday treat is gingerbread cookies. I love how it can be made into different shapes like gingerbread men or gingerbread trees decorated with frosting and candy or a decorative gingerbread house. I love gingerbread when it is warm and fresh out of the oven.

day 5 I can't cook so these'll have to do

My fave holiday treat is hot cocoa. Esp peppermint mocha.

My favorite holiday treat is simple, easy though perhaps a bit tedious to make, and delicious. Definitely not a very HEALTHY treat, but still. It's Hillshire Farm Lil Smokies (tiny little smoked sausages), wrapped in bacon and stuck through with a toothpick to hold the bacon on. Then you nestle them in a slow cooker on top of a layer of brown sugar, and then another layer of bacon-wrapped sausages on top of the first layer, and then cover liberally with brown sugar.
You end up with this sticky, almost caramel-like sauce made from the bacon fat and the melted brown sugar, and the bacon gets crisp, and it's a delicious little finger food snack.
My favorite holiday treat is chocolate no bake cookies
My favourite holiday dessert is Malteaser Cheesecake ! I always make it for our Christmas dessert :3
Not my cheesecake, but a decent representation

If by "treat" you mean "food" I got this one /covered/! Sometimes I think the mantra of Judaism is "they tried to kill us, they failed, let's eat." Every holiday has some sort of food associated with it, and Chanukkah is no exception. While anything fried in oil is fair game (this one wreaks havoc on your arteries), my favorite has to be latkes. Fried potato pancakes, a bit like hashbrowns in patty form, they are amazing anytime but best during the holiday. Crisp on the outside and just a little bit soft on the inside, they are best eaten when so hot that the applesauce is the only thing that keeps you from burning your mouth. <3
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
Day 5 entry:
My favorite holiday treat is Trader Joe's Chocolate Liqueur Cherries. They are only available this time of year.

Of course, as just posted above, my favorite Chanukah treat is latkes with applesauce!
