If you're doing great getting tokens you might skip buying these out of user shops. However if you're like me and dancing tokens come in at the slow trickle of molasses on a cold day, or you've joined the site some time after 2009 and have a backlog to work through, these items might be worth buying while they are selling for cheaper than the current trinket conversion rate. Here's the numbers I've been working with while combing thru past years:

I went through every item in each category instead of just my own wishlist, so the lists from 2009 and 2010 are slightly expanded from my last post.

A FAST way to tell if an item is worth buying in sP: Multiply its trinket price by 10,000; that is 33% off the conversion ratio. Example: 5 trinket item at 50,000, 10 trinket item at 100,000, 15 trinket item at 150,000. If it's even lower than that it's a steal.

Otherwise, you have to figure out for yourself if it's worth it to buy based on how quick you're getting trinkets. The more trinkets you have coming in, the steeper discount you should look for. If you have no trinkets coming in or are buying them from shop search (like me lol) you can buy at the prices listed in my table, or higher if the convenience is worth the sP.

2016 onward is better to buy with trinkets for virtually everything! My strategy is to start with the items I want in 2018 using trinkets and work backwards through the years, to prioritize the new prettier things.
