We've gotten a decent amount packed up. It's a good thing we don't own a huge amount of stuff. Josh is transferring from the Walmart here to the Walmart there until he can find something else.

Yeah! He doesn't want to be there long, so luckily he will have a lot more opportunities there. My job offers a lot, and I'm so excited!

He's not entirely sure what he wants to do right now, and I can understand that. I hate the pressure of feeling like you have one career path for life. It offers good health and dental insurance, 13 paid holidays a year, paid vacation time, a free bus pass every month, and she's paying for my background checks and for me to get re-certified in CPR, Communicable Diseases, and Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention (plus paying me overtime to do the courses!). I'll start off making $12.50 an hour, which I know isn't super high, but this field doesn't have a high pay rate; although it's the highest paying job I've had, so I'm stoked! Minimum wage is $8.10 in Ohio. If I transition to a lead teacher position, I'll be making $14 an hour, plus any raises. Also, since the center is non profit, if I'm still working there and paying student loans in 10 years, my loans disappear. I get to choose if I want to work 8 hours, 5 days a week, or 10 hours for 4 days. They take the kids on field trips very commonly, so I'll get to go to a lot of great places. The manager was just super friendly and exciting, so I'm looking forward to be working with her.

I agree. I don't like the pressure that's put on people to choose a career and choose it young and you're made to feel like you have to do it for the next 40 years. I remember being SO stressed in grade 12 when I was being forced to pick a university and a program of study, etc.

Same!! I actually wanted to go for creative writing, but I was worried I wouldn't be able to make a career in it. Then it was psychology, but I'm a very sensitive person, so I was afraid I would be weighed down and upset all the time. So then it was tiny humans. xD

I KNOW!! :D :D I'm really not sure yet. I like the idea of having an extra day off to get stuff done that you couuld only do during weekdays, but 10 hours is a long time chasing kids haha

I have a degree in Biology and a minor in French... which I so clearly use on an everyday basis managing a spa... o.o

10 hours IS a long day.. You'd definitely need the 3 day recovery xD

I have so many friends who have degrees who aren't using them for various reasons. Would you like to change your career later on?

The main thing I'm not too find of about the 10 hour days is that the day off changes each month. Like in October it might be Monday, and November it might be Thursday. I just wish it was always Friday. xD

I might. I REALLY love what I'm doing right now.. but it's a really physical job and I feel like at some point I actually just won't be able to physically do it anymore.

Oh.. there's no consistency? Hm. If it was 3 days in a row I'd probably do it.. but maybe not if it moves around.

That's understandable. I'm probably going to be the same way. I'm already a low-energy person for the most part, so I won't be able to chase kids forever lol

Yeah, it's a tough decision. I might try it out and decide after that. She said I could try it anytime. She seems really lax.

That's great! It's so nice to have a relaxed boss. Stressed out ppl are no fun. Which probably means I'm no fun at work right now. Pretty stressed.

We got an email this morning saying we're approved for the apartment!! We pretty much knew it already, but it was really nice getting that confirmation. I'm sorry you're stressed! What's going on? (if you want to talk about it)

Congraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaats! <3 Ah, just work is being annoying. We're having issues with our parking situation.. we're short staffed and our full time receptionist has been away the last 2 weeks.. her father passed away. Which is horrible and I feel for her. But we've all been working a ton to cover her shifts.

It'll be over soon once the new girl is there all trained and on her own and we get a second parking spot.

Next Thursday it sounds like. I just messaged her today to see how she was doing and if she'd need more time. She did ask for a few more days.. I wouldn't be surprised if she asked for more. It's a lot to handle.

Yeah, I can understand not being ready to come back, especially if she was really close with him.
