Orchids are really neat, but I've never been able to keep them alive after they finish flowering 😊 laughs

They look like goldfish without fins :D If i recall they are similar to needing things like the tropical plants do--but a bit more light. Yeah I head they can be hard.

A lot of garden centres round here have free talks where they go over the best ways to care for an Orchid, and also have a "health check" where you can bring your Orchid along and one of their specialists will give you advice on the best way to resolve any problems.... only trouble is, mine never live long enough to go to one of their health check sessions :P

one of my books says that my Bromeliad plant should never have water down its 'neck' or on the actual leaves.... the only way I've been able to get the thing to survive is by pouring some water down the 'neck' of the plant, on the actual leaves :P

nods but the directions changed over the years - 10 years ago the books said to do that, then about 5 years ago it changed to say you shouldn't.... and now they say you should ;) :P

Or the Cryptanthus (Earth Star) that says "do not grow in direct sunlight".... if it's in shade, the leaves don't get as coloured - it needs the sunlight to get the red leaves 😇
