:D :D He's also learnt to mimic the sound of a dripping tap / sausages frying (Sid took ages to learn that, and that was when the kitchen tap was dripping all day long!) ;) So far he's more interested in sounds like that (and whistles) than words though ;) You can get "Gorilla Tripods (link)" which can be twisted around a pole or something similar, so you can hold the camera at a weird angle, but mine's a more 'normal' tripod (similar to this one (link) but without the tilting head part)

Oh wow! laughs I am always amazed at the range of sounds that birds can imitate. I have this special little recorder that I got to teach Disco some words. You speak into it, and then it repeats the word or phrase for you at different times during the day. It's made specifically to teach birds to speak, and it's nice because I don't have to stand there all day saying the words over and over. xD I'm not sure if the repetitive nature of something like that would make Sparky more interested in words, though! Oh cool, thank you for sharing those different tripods with me! I will have to save those pages for later. :D

hehe I'm still amazed at how big & fluffy he looks already! @ Raven Haha, Athens, Georgia. My favorite band is from there, and the whole town does a music and arts festival every summer, so we went for that. :D

laughs That's too funny! I had no idea you lived in Georgia. I'm from Pennsylvania, so we get hot weather in the summer, but not usually anything like that. Yep, R.E.M. is my favorite band. :D There's a lot of other great bands I like from Athens though, too. ;) Yeah, we had a great time! We stayed at a bed and breakfast, which was beautiful. They had a few acres of land with horses, a pond, and lots of birds. :D We stayed for 2 weeks, and Athfest ended up being at the very end of our stay.

totally have been to PA before. I'm a military brat, I miss Europe to be honest. Mum's British. and we lived in Germany for 7 years. It was a total guess lol because yeah I don't know why lol but many bands came from Athens. that sounds like a nice honeymoon <3

No way, my mom is British too! xD She moved to the states with my grandparents when she was about 13, though. I think I would miss Europe too, especially with the stuff that's going on here right now. x.x I've only been out of the country once, and I was so young at the time that I don't even remember visiting the UK. =X We'd love to travel more, but it's just so expensive. They were one of the most well known bands from Athens, although there were several. ;) The B-52's are also from Athens originally, the Indigo Girls, Widespread Panic, etc. There are a lot. xD It was! <3 We went to the botanical gardens for a hummingbird walk too, that was really neat.

Hehe, yay! xD My mom's side of the family sort of immersed us in the culture, but it would still be nice to visit again. =) I have loads of relatives over there who I barely know, sadly. It is! We've only been able to afford stateside trips so far. Well, you obviously have excellent taste in music, then! ;) They are! I got some photos of hummingbirds and a Mississippi kite while we were there. I always think that it's neat seeing the little lizards too, because we don't have them in the wild around here. xD

I know what you mean. I've got a lot of relatives that I dont' really know -snugs- ooh awesome :D the Callaway gardens has lots of butterflies, but I dont think I have any hummingbirds at all.

I can imagine, since you must move around a lot. =( hugs I feel terrible, my great uncle just passed away, and my grandad couldn't even make it to his funeral. He's really getting too old to travel that far alone, plus it is so expensive! I can't imagine having to miss my brother's funeral. Oh cool! We saw some neat butterflies there as well. It was really hot that day, though, I almost passed out. xD

I've missed my uncle's funerals too. Its tough. I know what you mean, its like stepping out into a sauna :/
