I wanted to let everyone know that my dad is having surgery today and is in the back with my mom getting ready for it. It's a pretty intense surgery, so please send up positive thoughts and prayers that everything will go well and he won't have to spend too much time in the hospital afterwards.

Thanks everyone! He is resting and relaxing in the ICU for tonight and tomorrow if everything is okay'd by the doctor he will be in his own room for a few days. My mom and I will be there tomorrow for a few hours to see him.

(hugs) Thanks Darling for the update on your father, I am glad he is resting. You get some rest too. We will continue our prayer vigil for your father and for you and your family.

The winds have kicked up here in Central California. We don't get much wind except in March as storm systems move in and out of the area. This morning a small system moved out of the area and now winds are steady at 40 MPH and trees are falling over due to the saturated soils in the area. In some areas the winds are near 50 MPH and there is one area in Kern county that recorded a sustained gust of 97 MPH. You could really fly even the worst kite in the world in this weather.

Thank you (hugs) I talked to him for a little bit this morning and he was able to eat some jello and have some warm tea since all he can have now is liquids. He will be getting into his own room today sometime and then come home tomorrow, from what it sounds like :)

Oh, be safe! Strong winds scare me sometimes, especially when it comes to poles and trees coming down.

My dad had surgery on Thursday to pull his esophagus straight and also get his stomach into the right place and fix a hernia. All at once! It took from 7:30am to 12:30pm. My mom and I stayed the whole time. He had to be in the ICU for awhile because he has an irregular heartbeat, but everything is good now and he is coming home :)
