- I'm sorry to ping the whole group but I'm in serious need of virtual hugs.

My mum died yesterday and I'm lost. Since my dad died, I make sure to phone her every day at roughly the same time. I even picked up the phone today out of habit and just stood there sobbing until hubby took it away from me.

She was in hospital because she'd been ill over the New Year. I spoke to her on Monday night and she was in good spirits. Laughing and joking. I phoned again on Tuesday for our nightly call and couldn't get a reply on her mobile. Hubby phoned the hospital and they told him she'd passed away within the last 15 mins.

I phoned her at home on New Year's Eve and couldn't get in touch. Phoned my brother and he and his son broke the glass in her door to get in and found her collapsed on the sofa. Called an ambulance who whisked her off to hospital where was being treated for pneumonia but recovering well. Apparently, she'd had trouble breathing and before the nurses could get the oxygen to her she had a heart attack.

Especially loosing a parent is something hard and you can never be prepared. hugs again

I am so sorry for your loss. Dont hold anything back, cry and just let it all out. She has gone to a better place I'm sure of it. Shes reunited with your dad and i bet they are both looking out for you now. <3 /lots of hugs

So sorry for the loss of your mother. It was thanks to you and your brother that she received medical care. Pneumonia can be very taxing on the heart, am sure the nurses did all they could for her. Know that she is with God and smiling down on you.

sorry for the loss of your Mother that is very hard on anyone no words will help you that I can say I just want to hug you and keep your memories of your Mother close to heart ..... My dad passed 21 years ago and it still takes it toll on me ... My mom is still alive but don't want anything to do with me which hurts so bad all the time ok sorry I will just hug you now

HUGS I feel your pain. When I lost my Dad and older sister, at different times. I got used to calling both, and called both of them on the day they died. I was so frustrated they wouldnt answer their phones. My sister passed at her son's birthday party, poor guy hates his birthday. My Dad had Parkinsons in late stages so I called, frequently. Two years since my Dad passed, and I still feel the need to call and check up on him. My sister passed in 2006, I have days I need to talk to her, I am not used to being the oldest sibling.

I am so sorry, there are no words to express how deeply sorry i am. I, too have lost both my father and my mother, though it has been a few years now- the loss is always felt. I would love to give you a real hug.....You will be in my prayers too! Hugs
