Puppies. 5 months old today. The cat run is still in progress. We've been wall to wall disasters I swear. He's got a basic design though--catio instead of a yard run and he's waiting to hear back from one of the neighbors about some building supplies she may or may not want to use. If she doesn't we get them and can get started. Which is good 'cause my criminal mastermind kitties are figuring out alllll the ways to open the doors. And the puppies of course ignore all the dog toys in favor of the cat toys. =( So it can't happen soon enough. We've done some interior stuff though. Cat shelves and play pits.

I got my two jumping around and nose-whistling with excitement earlier by introducing them to the grass whistle. To be fair though they did just about the exact same thing a little bit later when I got out the shovel.

Yes and no. We had Kala for a month alone before we went back and got her sister and in that time I was able to somewhat teach her to lead with her licker and kiss the kitties before anything else. She's really excitable about it but is learning. Rylie didn't have the benefit of all that one on one training and is kinda bratty. The cats raise their paws to her so she raises hers back to them. Mikey was closer to 'Narii so I was sure he'd teach the girls and be the ambassador as opposed to Beau who always picked on 'Narii. But nope. Mikey's afraid/standoffish and Beau plays with the girls and tries to teach them and generally looks after them. When they cry at night or in the morning in their kennels he goes over and keeps them company. ❤ I'm hoping to foster more of that than the girls' tendency to amp each other up but easier said than done with shepherds. XD 'Narii was so amazing she made me dog stupid, bless her heart.

I had not thought of birdcages. That's pretty clever. We've got that old ferret cage in my office. My husband won't let me do anything with it as we "might" get ferrets again. (Then he goes and gets two dogs...yup.) I've been wanting to use it as a plant vault though. L

If you google catio you'll see all kinds of cute ideas. I have to confess, I'd be afraid to bring in a large dog if I had cats. Heck, I don't even want large dogs around my little ones.
