edit: thanks for the set advice. I bought a breastplate & tag... but most likely won't use the tag since it uses the stealer spot & it's low chance. My Aemis does 31 wind (2 wind baguettes) and under normal circumstances does quite a good punch. I'm not fond of split attacks because oftentimes the ones I'm up against spread their defences... so instead of losing 5 on one attack, I'd be losing 5 x 2-4 =10-20... making the other weapons much less potent. I'll have to see eventually with special cases where my aemis & tarot get blocked but most of the time I'm happy with the results.

- actually I use the UltimaPlus Tag constantly (and still do with my almost T10) - yes, it takes the stealer slot, but stealing is rarely important (blasting is much better in general) and the tag has a 25% chance to heal, plus a 16-20 point attack, and a medium chance to freeze ... oh yes, and sometimes it also steals. There is not a single more underrated weapon on all of Subeta. The 25% heal plus freeze chance are usually what I use it for, and I really like that it has an attack so my opponent doesn't get a complete pass (compare to Phoenix Quill which heals with no attack). I can't begin to tell you how many times that extra 25% hp or the extra freeze has made the difference between a win and a loss..

Why blasting is better than stealing. Most of the time, you can't use the weapon you steal (a lot of the ones you'd really like to use have a negative 100 percent health if you use them) and, for those weapons you can use, usually my own weapons are better (especially when I consider the added weapon mods). So stealing usually gets you very little. On the other hand, blasting means that every so often your challenger chooses to attack you with a worthless weapon that does almost no attack, giving you a much needed turn when you don't take nearly as much damage. So a is pretty much a required staple from here on out until you can afford (which I don't have)

If you are desperate for a blaster, or a second blaster, then is a T2 blaster. I don't use mine much because it takes the stealer slot so I'd have to get rid of the UltimaPlus Tag from my default set. It can be bought, or won by beating Calvin Blackmoon at a game of Card Crusade - which isn't too difficult if you quit games where you're not ahead in aces after the first pass (or two) through the cards.

Aemis isn't a bad weapon. But more and more you're going to need either parched (most of the time) or blessing of natural armor mods. I own an Aemis, but very rarely use it as a weapon since I almost always have a better choice.

By the way, when adding mods, don't forget to add some Critical Strike Tear Crystals (you can get these in the battle shop) to your three and four mod slot weapons. They can be a big help as well.

Is the Recycle Blaster a decent weapon? I won a few in battle but can't remember who I got it from and haven't had time to fight again.

- Recycle Blaster seems to be a staple since blasting is often advantageous. Unless you already have Soma Tablets (and if you need to double blast, sometimes even with them) it is very useful I use it against almost every opponent I fight unless I simply can't afford to take the turn. And you get them from defeating Recycle Beast (of course - LOL). It's even more helpful in longer battles at high tiers where getting a pass on one weapon every so often can really add up Also when you just need to get rid of a certain weapon to get a win.

Thanks for the info. I have never used the recycle blaster since it's only a T5 weapon and most of my pets are T12 and T11. Never heard of the Soma tablets, where do you get those? I mainly use potion of robot, rift staff and paintbrush blades for attack.

- my pleasure. Soma Tablets are an old reading drive prize and are now sold in the Antique Shop so they are very expensive. You can't always tell what is a good weapon by the tier. Some weapons scale, or have special properties that make them useful long past the tier where you can first use them. For example - Replica Minotaur Knocker is a Tier 1 weapon, and the Blessed Trident is Tier 8. With a high enough tier pet, it may not always matter too much what weapons you use (even more so if you have high intelligence and are using scrolls) but for any close battles or pushing to beat a challenger with fewer stats or with a lower tier pet, paying close attention to icons and doing things like blasting can make all the difference. The top battlers tailor their weapons to the challenger - and also have weapons they use for boss battles designed to help them deal more damage quicker to earn the top rewards.

I don't pay much attention to all that since I only battle for plots/events or if there's a loot drop I want. ;) And I guess the mystery box isn't giving out cheap food items any more? Darn. I need a lot more to give to charity. Hmm, I just discovered that I already have the Fantine pie achievement. So unless they raise it this year I can start using the pumpkins in my vault to give to charity instead of fantine. But how will I know, when does fantine start collecting pies?

They didn't say when she'll start, only that it would be later during the event. And she may have new items to give out as well, so you might want to save some of your pumpkins at least.

Hum you've given me some things to think about. I'll see if the tag is more useful for me at this stage. I have a critical strike on my tarot... 3-4 mod slots wow. Sometimes I have none, others I have 1 and if I'm lucky there's 2 :D

Hum, I've been using the & it has a 8 attack... but the info says it not only 100% but also changes a weapon to something not dangerous the opponent can still use. Looks at recycle beast stats... yeah Poukie ain't going to win 1 battle let alone 5 lol. So I'll see about buying it later when my eyes are rested.

Mystery Box changes shop every day... today it's the Candy Shack. Most items are more than 1k at the minimum amount in that shop so although you'll get food, it'll cost more than the bake shop.

- you can use both a blaster and a freezer together in the same weapon set, so the Recycle Blaster and your Gorgun can both be used. Most battlers prefer to freeze and then use the turn when the challenger is frozen to blast. Personally, I like to freeze and blast on the first turn - if I survive that hit (and I usually do - even from surprising tough challengers who can and do one hit me on later turns) then I am able to double attack while they're frozen and can't block, or if I'm trying to chain freeze, I can use two freezing items for a better chance at a second freeze. Anyway, now that you have one thanks to (how nice of you!), you can experiment and see how things go for you. Blasting is important enough that many of 's battle guides even talk about what would be a good blast, and it is certainly a major topic on the Battle Chat thread whenever a tough challenger is discussed. As far as mod slots go, most lower tier weapons have fewer, but having more mod slots becomes common at higher tiers. Have fun!

- if your pet is sufficiently high tier your battle set won't matter as much when battling for loot drops (except for the very hardest challengers), but when doing boss battling during events, tailoring your battle set to generate the highest possible damage can make a big difference in what prizes you are able to earn. In the last Gelatin War, it took me 1200 battles to earn a core with Tos - without working to maximize my damage results that 1200 could easily have been far far more - and I probably wouldn't even have tried for the top prize. Just something to think about if you want to. :-)

The basics: When I started on Subeta, the first Lumi I celebrated properly, someone had set up a board where you submitted the names of users on site with trees up on their profile but no/only a few gifts. (Without pinging them, to make it a surprise)

We had a merry band of gifters, finding names and sending things so as many people as possible would have something to open - as not everyone has places like the Shark Tank where they can chat and make friends, and not everyone is super sociable.

Fast forward to last year, and there was no board. So, I made one myself, made the ping group and loads of lovely folk stepped up to helped.
We need name hunters and gifters, so even people with little sp to spare can help out.

We managed a 'limited use of technology' weekend, having a bonfire & sparklers party as we missed out on Bonfire Night as a family earlier in the month. Phones were only out for sparkler pictures, and grumpy teens tended the bonfire without even being asked!
I still think my hair smells of smoke despite washing it, but a good time was had by all.

Considering the number of times people get the wrong idea about something in writing, you'd think face to face or even phone would be encouraged. It's just like you said about opting out of Lumi gifting and not wanting people to be upset by how you say that.
On the other hand for covering long distances, technology is our hero.
After all, I wouldn't know all you lovely folk here without it.
So mustn't grumble too much. :p

My sister is very hot on internet supervision, she worked in teaching for a while when she was younger and heard some stories of kids left to do their thing.

For what it's worth, a little earlier I decided to try and see how hard it would be to restock inexpensive food and within a few minutes was easily able to purchase 64 items all under 1000 sP (almost all of them less than 500 sP) directly from the shops, just be checking one shop after another and then going back to the first ones, so hopefully, everyone should be able to get as much food as they need/want for Charity. And Charity was kind enough to give me a nice assortment of items for them, including 4 books. :-)

Considering my background, I'm sure you know that I'm all in favor of technology. I just think it should be used as a tool to enhance our lives and make things easier. I'm not anti-technology at all, but I am against people feeling like slaves to their technology or to technology that is done so poorly it makes things harder, rather than easier for those using it (especially an issue at work for some).

I'm very pleased that technology has allowed me to get to know you.

Sorry to hear your computer is having problems. Sounds like it's pretty old! I don't know what prices are like where you are, but here it is possible to get a very inexpensive (new - not refurbished) computer that would be more than adequate for most (non high level computer gaming) needs. In fact, the laptop I am using was a lowest cost I could find purchase (originally we were planning on splurging on a Mac to go with it - but, for technology reasons, so far have not). And my older buisness computer was also a lowest cost laptop purchase many years ago that I wound up inheriting.

Maybe that is the thing with technology, it's not really about the technology itself (when it breaks down notwithstanding!) but more about how people use or abuse the technology.

Yeah, with the computer issues, because I have been temping - lower wages - I've not been able to save up. So hopefully if I can get some job stability sorted, I will be in a better place to sort a replacement machine. At least it's working enough to get me back on here for now! I shall take the positives.

Tempest events are fun, but I do get a lot of repeats - like the bracelet one, I think it is. Well, I like the random events in general. The Oracle is good for pet stats too.

So Black Friday has started. But last year I didn't really buy much because I already have most of what I wanted. Guess I'll only pick up a few things to stash and resell later. Glad it saves me some money.

I got all of the challengers I was missing before! So that was nice :)

I'll go through the shop some more tomorrow and see if there's anything I sort of want, but I probably won't spend very much either.

does anyone know when/if it restocks in cash shop? On SubetaLodge it just says cash shop... no mention of it being a collection item & it's not in the shop now (really had hoped)

That is an older retired Cash Shop item, I believe it's part of a set. But it looks like those weren't brought back for the sale this year.
