i remember the filters on that other coughreally boring and totally lamecough pet site being a total pain. i'm pretty sure one of the selling points i emphasised to some of my friends there to try and get them to come and try Subeta was "THEY HAVE GRAPE THINGS HERE!!" XD so i know how much better it is here, even though the filtering can sometimes still produce funny results. hence why i will remain here watching the alterations being amused and not frustrated until whatever it is that's causing things to play up is fixed :P

It's not fixed. One of my older posts is still being filtered (it wasn't before this started happening).

"Peacock" is whitelisted so that when it gets caught by the censor, "pear-ooster" is filtered back into the original word. So you can't use that to test the filter, as it will display as intended whether the filter is enabled or not.

Edit: The word being decapitalised seems to prove that the filter is still in effect for everyone. I imagine the filter messes with capitalisation, which is why you're getting a lower case p.

The words fuck and shit seem to still be censoring for me and I don't have the censor turned on.

They turn into "love" and "crap".

Okay good, so it's not just my account. I'm seeing censored versions of words too even though I have the censor disabled.

I am also seeing censored versions of things, and had an issue when reporting a DIFFERENT issue because my image URL happened to contain "M 8" and it would change the URL to "mate", likely due to the chatspeak filter.

I noticed this a few days ago and I was so confused I checked to see if I had it turned on, but I didn't! xD

My swears are being filtered...apparently I can't describe my lack of ping order as a shitshow...it gets changed to crapshow... Bad word filter not on, not been on for years...plz help aid my profanity

It's working again! In fact, going by Keith's post here, I think the filter might be entirely gone. O.O What's happening for people who normally have the filter enabled?

I normally have it disabled in my preferences, but I enabled it just to see. Confirmed it seems to be not working at all now, none of the bad words in this thread were censored with it turned on.

Yeah, it seems like something that could be a bit complicated, so they're probably still working on it along with other things.
