Thanks Keith! That makes me want to go buy more CSC :)
Thanks for the update, Keith! Looking forward to a more smoother time on here. :)
For everyone that was recently accusing the Subeta staff of being selfish and deaf to the needs of the community, I really think you guys spending a lot of extra money to leave a contract and improve the site really says a lot!
Shun the nonbelievers!
Thank you so much Staff, especially you, !

Thank you for the info, Keith, sounds very interesting!

Thank you Keith for the extra information and the explanation, it's amazing how so much little we know about the back scene of Subeta and this post made many things clear. It must be so hard to face a lot of complains and negativity while knowing that you are stuck in a contract with a service that only damaging your business.. I hope Amazon Aurora will give you a peaceful mind :)
Contracts are a messy complicated business. Ick. Hopefully I'll have a few extra pennies soon to help make up for the early break penalty (I can't remember the proper term, haha).
Good luck with the move! I'll keep all my fingers and toes crossed. ❤
Thank you so much for deciding to move! I really appreciate that you went out of your way to spend more money on moving sooner because the site definitely needs it for Luminaire. Thank you also for the in-depth explanation! This is the kind of transparency we always ask for. c:
This is what Subeta needs when it comes to communication. 👏
The whole first post should've been mentioned on the feedback thread. Instead, the thread got shut down and nobody's mind was put at ease. :/
More information like this = less fear and anxiety among users = more happier users willing to spend $$$
I approve wholeheartedly and I sincerely, sincerely hope there will be more posts like this. Nobody wants to feel anxious, or be kept in the dark when it comes to their favorite past-time.
Godspeed @ the database move and maintenance, and may everything go smoothly and easily.
More of this, please! (information updates, not downtime) ;)
Thank you for sharing the site's problems and I'll be anticipating the move!
I love you guys! This type of planning and support is one of the reasons I have stayed with Subeta all these years!
QUESTION!
If it's expected to be a 12 hour thing, why not begin it around 8 AM EST or so? Then neither day's Melody is truly affected. Yes, the site's down for the day but the achievements would remain unaffected.

We base our downtime around when most users are on Subeta. This time is pretty quiet for the site, whereas having it down for the day would have a much larger impact on actual gameplay from users.
In addition we're going to want prime-time data when we bring the site back online so we can immediately start tuning the system.
💖 ✨ 🤗
Ah, fair point. I thought I would throw that out anyway. c:

said everything I wanted to basically say but I want to add in my further 2 cents. Sorry, I don't know how to summarize apparently. xD
I know you guys don't want to post information unless you guys have a solution to the problem. That's natural. No one wants to say um I'm working on this and I have no idea when it's going to be fixed if it's going to be fixed at all. But I think a lot of fear and anxiety could be alleviated by simply saying what you're working on (as in this case - we've gotten into a contract but we're working on moving to a better database system). It's not necessarily update overload because the prior feedback thread was created September and got to almost 600 posts. Like I know things take a while to work on, but literally any update would have been fine. I'm SUPER excited you are able to move to Amazon Aurora and I LOVE this update. I just wish any sort of update was posted prior to this solution, because seeing a thread since September consistently high up on site feedback amassing almost 600 posts is just not good for the site as far as morale is concerned.
so yes, tl;dr - please update us sooner than 2+ months down the line, legit with any update even if the issue hasn't resolved itself so there's no DOUBT in anyone's mind you guys are working on it; having the issue ignored comes across as negligent even when it's obvious right now that you guys weren't being negligent because people's trust is a fragile, delicate thing and isn't necessarily easy to repair; you don't want to lose morale or motivation of players voicing concerns
I hope this makes sense lol.
The update, as always, is appreciated. I'm quite excited for the move and am hopeful it will fix some of the errors we have been having. :)
