To answer your question, pets need healing only if you battle with them. If you are interested in battling, there's an entire forum dedicated to it that has lots of helpful threads to guide you. Pets do not get sick otherwise :)

Hi and welcome! I don't know if anyone mentioned this or not, but you can bookmark locations so you don't need to write them down! There's a little plus sign on the side and at the top below all the links. You can also go to your user dashboard (under the personal tab). There you can manage bookmarks. I have the healer bookmarked, plus the bathhouse, training center, and the subeautique. Really you can bookmark anything you don't want to forget about on the site.
