Basically she's a play on the Chicken Little fable. She actually tries to deal with the issue of "the sky falling" instead of freaking out like the animals in the original fable.

Her name basically alludes to a hopeful wind. Spinel is a gemstone that represents hope and puff is a synonym for wind. I chose wind since she's a lasirus and has wings.

i actually moved to korea 18 months ago so they're really inspired by my life here in seoul! they're so early in their development but i can't wait to see how they grow and take shape!

My account was flip turned upside down (by me) when non-unique names were implemented, and all my plans changed. I've slowly been figuring out what the pets will be and I'm very excited to announce my latest batch of characters:

[pet not found] & [pet not found] Limn & Legend are my in-universe draw-er and writer, respectively, and it's their job to record the history of their world to be kept in The Library.

[pet not found] Turn is their little alien friend from a neighboring bubble universe. He's currently being zapped to become a .

[pet not found] [pet not found] [pet not found] [pet not found] These four are helpers created by The Librarian to help take care of The Library. Cia is in charge of surveillance, Catricia is a book storage and retrieval system (like a Kindle), Galyn keeps The Library clean, and Kell-3Y is a GPS that also operates as a vehicle.

[pet not found] [pet not found] Avis & Rien are sisters whose family takes care of The Natural Museum of History, a tree that grows organically in the middle of The Library. Rien gets stuck in a nether-universe-type-thing about the same time that Turn shows up.

[pet not found] Heidy is Catricia's pet, a stuffed version of the many cats that live in The Library.

[pet not found] Coax is an old character I've reworked many times, but she's always survived and evolved. She's a siren-turned-pirate who lives in the same world as everyone else (but is not affiliated with The Library).

[pet not found] [pet not found] [pet not found] [pet not found] I haven't really come up with characters for these four yet, but they all represent my recently acquired RL house plants, and assuming I don't end up killing them all (I'm not known for my green thumbs), these will also be regular inhabitants of the same world.

That's it so far. I have decided that all pets born in 2014 will represent "myths & stories" that are fictitious to the main world but can be found in The Library, and I have ideas for most of them already. However, I haven't changed their names yet, so I'll hold off on introducing them for now. :)

I just returned from an extended hiatus and found out about the new naming system, which pretty much changes everything. I guess I wasn't too happy with the majority of my pets, so I've decided to only keep 12 and some of them turned into completely new characters. After only having girls (even my genderless pets were very much on the feminine side) for years, I'm now a proud mother to three boys: [user not found] [user not found] [user not found] I still need to buy Nightmare potions for Edmund and Luan (especially Edmund, he looks way too goofy right now), but I'm already very excited to see were they are going from here as I've technically had these pets for a very long time and this fresh start opens up many possibilities :)
