who's your favorite artist? If you don't have one what about genre?

I love to explore new places when I'm bored. When I need some cheering up I normally go to a park or garden and walk around

Pet Therapy is always my best bet. For me, nothing gets me in a good mood quicker than when I'm spending quality time with my animals! <3

Something else that works pretty well for me is playing a computer game, but specifically I seem to be able to take my mind off of things more easily if I'm playing a game that I've never played before, or just haven't played in a very long time.

I struggle to cheer myself up, but I listen to music, knit, hug my cat, or watch stupid movies, sometimes depressing movies because it helps put me in a mindset where my situation could be worse.

When I feel like a total crumb bum, I usually go out for a drive along the dark country roads. The way they twist and turn and all the trees on both sides makes it feel like an adventure. Plus sometimes I get to see NOCTURNAL WILDLIFE and that is exciting.

I like to watch movies that are light hearted, inspiring and have really cool art. Like Ghibli films! Also for days where I was in a slump for a while, I'd put on a cool outfit and go to a thrift store (because I love thrift stores). Even if I didn't buy anything sometimes it's nice to just get up and get out of the house.

lately i've been watching the adventure zone animatics on youtube and relistening to fave episodes of mbmbam (the ballad of tit liquid, toot me to cabo, and glistening fishlifters are on my 'always downloaded' list rn) or watching youtube videos. the mental illness happy hour podcast has really been reaching me lately bc i'm having a rough time so i've caught up on some past episodes of that as well. ohio winter has officially started so my chihuahua needs to be watched over while we are out but i like to take my dogs on a walk and listen to a podcast for a while - most shows i have seem to run an hour so i just walk around for an hour and just doing some sort of mindless activity usually helps me feel a little bit better. squishing play doh. cleaning also? i put on a podcast and just like totally engross myself in some sort of activity so im not just laying down doing nothing tho there is totally a place for that tbh

how many times can i say podcast in this post??

I cheer myself up with music and playing online games mostly. I use to draw when I was in a bad mood but the older I got the less I drew like that, I only draw when I have ideas now. I'd have to say though, music and company of animals/pets helps the most.

I completely agree, pet therapy is amazing. The joy of an animal can always make you smile!

I also really recommend working out if it's an option for you. Something about leaving the gym sweaty and sore makes you feel so good! It's also had a profound effect on my mental happiness as well.

Like others have said spending time with pets is an instantaneous happiness boost for me, but watching Barbie films is really good for cheering me up too. They're just happy, simple worlds that are really easy to slip into.

My birds always cheer me up: Saltine my conure because he is funny and full of personality, Hobbes my cockatiel because he's just so cheerful and is always looking at me waiting for cuddles, my parakeets Luna and Scout just for being so cute and little and adorable, and my dove Hope for being so calm and patient. And I also love to cuddle with my dog Squirt, who always seems to know when I'm feeling blah.

I also tend to angst it up by listening to some somber music. Kevin Morby is my go-to. Oh, and I've rewatched all three seasons of Bojack Horseman a crazy number of times simply because the show is too real for me right now and I can relate to pretty much every character and it's both painful and wonderful.

Listen to music, sketch some cartoons, watch something funny or go for a hike with my dogs...animals and nature always make me feel better.

Aromatherapy is great. I put some nice smelling oils in the diffuser and chill. I recommend everyone try it!

I play with my fluffy cat Gus, contact friends, play pokemon, and if all else fails, i've found that scratching words into candles and then lighting them really helps.
