When i was more into gaming communities I used to listen to castle superbeast, still recommend it! Woolie and pat are great, rip tbfp
Right now i only listen to last podcast on the left (shaking hands emoji with you sometimes the jokes are not funny enough to go on as long as they do during the main true crime episodes), i like their side stories a lot for smaller true crime news and weird stuff, they have nice voices to listen to
I've heard magnus archives is really good too but have never listened !
[tot=shinji] [egg=shinji]
If anyone needs recommendations I have SO many. Especially if you're into spooky stuff or SCP, or audio dramas especially anything sci-fi! I love Nightvale as well as several SCP podcasts (SCP archives, Foundation after midnight[sadly not updating atm], Find us alive), Alice isnt dead (a wild ride of a story), high strange (aliensss), Archive 81(sadly not continuing), Lets not meet, Creepy, Radiolab, Skeptics guide to the galaxy, radio rental, ars paradoxica.
Having an office job with some mundane thoughtless tasks to do from time to time can make you a podcast junkie.
Also, if anyone wants to find more stuff, an app called Likewise is really good for finding books, podcasts and tv/movies that fit with the stuff you like.

i gotta say that god awful movies is my favorite podcast of all time. it's three buddies making fun of bad christian movies. they often have guests on that als do podcasts, and most of them are worth listening to as well.
lately, though, i've been going through the archives of black mass appeal, which is ostensibly about modern satanism but the first bunch of episodes is rather a lot more about religious history in general, and historical misconceptions about satanism specifically. there was an epsiode early on about D&D and how religious people link it to satanism(despite gary gygax definitely being christian), and how the satanic group the hosts all belong to was actually formed by a nerdy ttrpg group who played D&D together.
I'm a big fan of Tooth & Claw - it's a nonfiction podcast hosted by a wildlife biologist, his old field tech, and his brother. It's funny and educational if you like cool animal stuff!
Please give us all the spooky recs!
oooh boy! (deviously rubbing hands together like a filthy fly)
Magnus archives for sure is worth watching and I believe the series is complete if I'm not mistaken.
Rattled & Shook is one that started recently, two girls listening to scary stories and talking about fears.
Radio Rental, framing is a dude running a tape rental store and puts on tapes of scary stories for you.
SCP: Find us alive, ongoing story of an SCP research facility that has been placed in a spacial limbo on repeat (like groundhog day but like a month or more per repetition)
SCP: Archives, SCP articles fully in audio form with great voice acting, music and sound design.
Welcome to Night vale, A radio show in a town called night vale, very hard to explain more than that...
Creepy, Creepypastas in audio form!
Alice isn't dead, First person perspective story about a woman looking for her missing wife, supernatural stuff happens but I don't wanna spoil anything. I've listened to this twice.
Archive 81, Was a favorite of mine but was left unfinished. Supernatural stuff and confusing nonsense in a good way. Makes me sad they seem like they won't finish. They didn't respond when I tried to message them on facebook 🤷♀️.
Let's Not Meet: A True Horror Podcast, REAL scary/horror stories, listen at your own risk if that stuff makes you anxious.
The White Vault, A team is sent to an outpost in the cold far north in Svalbard to make repairs. Some unexpected events unfold while they are there. I shouldn't say more 🤫
I'm a HUGE fan of serial radio dramas if anyone has any recs regardless of genre. I'm a sucker for good sound design and acting and that's what pulls me in the most.

Polar bears... No, zombies! No, zombie polar bears!!
I've been very much enjoying Midst and Dracula Daily, both of which you may have heard of, but both of which have great acting and sound design!
Well, no, neither of those really. I WILL say that they weren't the first team to be sent up there and let's just say we don't know what happened to the last crew. 😮

These days I like listening to more educational podcasts, but I've also enjoyed more narrative-based content. If anyone has any recommendations for any podcast of the horror varieties, and specifically any queer ones, I'd appreciate it! Here are a handful of podcasts I have listened to in the past, and what I'm currently listening to:
On the Nose by Dana El Masri Perfume on the Radio - The Institute for Art and Olfaction Burnt Toast There Are No Girls on the Internet Death in the Afternoon True Tea W Kat Blaque
Be Scared
Pretend - a true crime podcast about con artists Swindled Criminal Conduct
You Must Remember This Noble Blood Our Fake History
Lore Atlas Obscura
Family Ghosts
Lime Town The Black Tapes Mabel Magnus Archives Welcome to Nightvale Mermaids of Merrow's Cove
[ tot=causticfish ]
The Magnus Archives Genres: Horror, Eldritch, Queer/LGBT Desc: The Magnus Archives is a weekly horror fiction anthology podcast examining what lurks in the archives of the Magnus Institute, an organisation dedicated to researching the esoteric and the weird. Join new head archivist Jonathan Sims as he attempts to bring a seemingly neglected collection of supernatural statements up to date, converting them to audio and supplementing them with follow-up work from his small but dedicated team.
Individually, they are unsettling. Together they begin to form a picture that is truly horrifying because as they look into the depths of the archives, something starts to look back…
Mabel Genres: Supernatural, Faerie, Queer, Kinda Mindfucky Desc: Mabel is a podcast about ghosts, family secrets, strange houses, and missed connections.
The Antique Shop Genres: Fae, Scottish, Supernatural, Timey-Wimey, kind of horror-y Desc: In desperate need of a job, Maya finds work in an old antique shop owned by a mysterious woman. The more time she spends in the shop the further the real world becomes, and Maya soon begins to realize that nothing is as it seems.

Almost five years later I am making another comment here to mention that my current favourite podcasts are The Scathing Atheist and God Awful Movies (done by the same people). I find them hilarious but I will give a content warning that they do use a lot of "crosses the line twice" kind of humour, especially in their early content, and particularly on early GAM they were prone to a lot of body shaming.
I also currently follow Strange Customs with Sasha Sagan, have just started listening to Conspirituality, and check out the occasional episode of Thank God I'm Atheist.
I have listened to a number of episodes of Faculty of Horror. I used to listen to NIGHTLIGHT a lot, which is a horror story podcast focusing on works by Black writers, all read by Black actors, but I recently realized I forgot to subscribe to them when I got my new phone and now I am over six months behind. I've tried a few times to get into The Magnus Archives and, while I really like the idea, there is something about the voice of the guy who narrates them that my ADHD brain does not like and I find it hard to stay focused on what he's saying.

My top favourite has got to be The Magnus Archives. Don't think I need to go into any description as it's been well-covered on this page. But I really love horror audio dramas and I'm so impatient for the sequel to begin in January.
A big favourite of mine that is still ongoing is Midnight Burger. It's an audio drama, comedy sci-fi show with a lot of heart and complex characters that I've gotten very attached to. Especially the sentient old times radio which is the best pair of grandparents anyone could have. It's a very heartwarming and comforting show that has only made me cry a little bit, lol.

I really like Trixie and Katya's podcast, The Bald and The Beautiful. Very rarely is it stone-cold-serious, but I think both of them are so interesting and have great insight. I like that they're famous people in the queer community, but they don't act like they've always been rich. Definitely my favorite thing to come out of the RuPaul Drag Race franchise.

I listen to too many podcasts, 95% of which are movie related, but I am fully obsessed with Blank Check.

I really, really need more podcasts to listen to, but I'm kinda picky.
Right now only listening to Critical Role and The Adventure Zone for D&D podcasts.
And one other random one called Five's A Crowd, just these 5 good dudes who sit around and talk about stuff. I enjoy their energy and their humor; most of it is family-friendly.
