We go through the entries, and people whose entries are removed for not meeting the requirements of the contest have never received participation prizes. The flower one was simply missed, and has since been removed. Please don't think that because we missed a single bad entry that we don't look through them at all! If we didn't go through them before opening up voting, there wouldn't be any time between when entries close and voting starts. Us going through the entries is the only reason voting doesn't start immediately after entries are closed.
I hope that clears up some of the confusion I've read here.
I just want to answer this here as well in case anyone else is having this problem - if you didn't see your entry and you're worried it wasn't included, please file a ticket and request me or grace! We can check it out for you and figure out what the situation is. <3
I personally like this form, the up/down/skip votes a lot more than how we've done it in the pass with the radio dials and everything on one page. Users have suggested here/in the news that we should have a few more on each page just so it's not so daunting still going through so many entries. ONE DAY WE WILL GET THIS PERFECT.
Like/don't like still has that negative aspect, though! That's why we added it in the news post because we wanted to make it clear and honestly couldn't come up with better wording for the buttons without it somehow being negative. It doesn't count against someone to "vote down" we just couldn't like articulate it well without doing a hover haha.
It looks like this has already been discussed, but we would definitely appreciate it if specific entries weren't discussed here. You can always file a ticket if there's an issue. :)
This is a reminder to please not name specific entries.

Hello! There have been some good suggestions here for future contests, but to clear things up, we will not be removing entries based on time or effort.
With that being said, we've gone through the entries again and removed those that were not following the rules (as in not creating something themselves) from further voting.
By not creating something themselves, we're referring to what was discussed in this news post:
If you see any others like this, file a ticket and let us know there. Thank you!
