"That's ok, most people stare to be honest," Paddy said (), surprised that someone actually was apologising for that. "And yep, I'm one of the Gryffindor prefects. I made sure to get all my prefect duties finished early so I could spend longer at the ball this year."
(OOC: Paddy wanted to dress as Pooh, dressed as a black raincloud, but got her storyline a little confused and though he was actually dressed as a bee :P Just blame that on her not bringing her muggle books to Hogwarts with her ;))

(( Oh my gosh that's utterly adorable! <3))

"I think there is a pumpkin craving station around here somewhere. Let's see what else there is". She started to walk away and she noticed Aderyn and Emmy approaching the table. "Thanks! The witches brew is really good. I wasn't too sure but I decided to give it a go and liked it. Aria and I are going to see what what there is if you want to come.
Fade followed his friends back into the ballroom and watched as Katsumi () and Magnus () wandered toward the stage. “Did someone say ghosts?” He squinted over the costumes to catch a glimpse. He would have to make a point to investigate later during an intermission when he wasn’t in danger of being asked to dance. Turning around to grab another snack he spotted and someone dressed as... “Sophie! () What a great costume. Hiya Paddy, I like your’s as well. Please don’t sting me, OK?” He grinned and pushed some hair out of his eyes.
OOC-- That really is adorable Paddy! Yay! ❤ Oh it would have been funny for her to bump into a Howl at the ball. (Figuratively, but maybe literally too lol.) Glad you appreciate the costume :D And I have! Maybe I should mail you because otherwise I'll take up the whole RP babbling about it haha.
--Audrey was afraid that she made Paddy feel self-conscious and wanted to reassure her, but thought better of it. Don't push the subject, it will just make her feel uncomfortable like you're focussing on it.
"Work before play I suppose? Glad you aren't busy watching the clock and can really enjoy the ball." Audrey flashed a smile before looking at the tables behind the prefect. "Hey, before I nearly turned everyone into a pile of dominoes, I was on my way to get a butterbeer. Would you like one?" She offered as another guest approached and complimented her costume, making her face light up. "Oh! Hello. Thank you, I'm so glad someone actually recognised me!" Her eyes widened slightly. "And you! Perfect image of--oh dear, I always forget his name. Erm. Final Fantasy? Z... Ah! Zidane? Very nice."
"I'm fine," Magnus lied not wanting to make things worse. He had no idea who the other girl was, but nodded and smiled. Sophie? Who is Sophie he wondered. "Anyone want food or dancing? Kat, my lovely dwarf?" See? He was trying.
Kat lit up at the sight of Audrey. "Oh. My. God. Book or movie?!" she demanded, circling around to better examine the outfit. "You have no idea how great my day just became, /none/." Her words were emphatic, but not as animated as one might expect for so delighted a statement, but that was classic Katsumi. "Dancing would be lovely, Magnus, but let me finish geeking out first, okay? This character was a huge part of my life, as was all Miyazaki's stuff. ...And remind me to make you read Howl's Moving Castle. Or at least watch the movie." She looked at Fade again. "Ooh, I was close! Still awesome, though. Are you planning on keeping your hair like that after? Or at least the length?"

"Was that all in Japanese?" he asked with a slight twinkle in his eyes, "cos I ain't understand a word of it. You geek... I'll er go look for an orc." He remained where he was though, because he didn't have any intention of leaving...except for, nope best not look because Kat would hit him--or should hit him.
Audrey hid her face again, but to cover her giggling this time. "Ah, don't make me choose!" She waved her hands with excitement. "Likewise, thank you! I was afraid no one would even know who I was." She smoothed her apron as she she spoke. She then looked between Kat and her friend. "And... Erm. please do introduce him to Miyazaki's world sometime," she turned her attention to Magnus. "It's a shame for you to miss out on that magic." A hint of a smile left on her face.
"Likewise. Name's Magnus." But he was still confused, "There's only one magical world...so is this Mikayzai a wizard?"

"My poetry! My afterlife's work!"
He glided around the grounds, trying to gather them all up. Though he did not need the written versions to do his performance, he still tried to gather them up.
"My work! Please, someone help me find them! I am still missing a few pages."

Audrey was about to happily tell how she adored the wizard Miyazaki when she heard a wailing in the distance. "Did... did you hear that?" She asked before hurrying to a window to peek outside. Several pages of paper flew past, followed by a ghostly apparition frantically trying to gather them. "Oh dear." She gasped. "We'll help!" She called out to him while fishing her wand out from her thick layered skirt.
“Yeah, that’s right.” He grinned at Audrey. () “Only I renamed him 2D, so I always forget his actual name… Did you grow up with Muggles?” So far he had been pleasantly surprised a few time having been recognized by so many wizards and witches. But he shook his head at Katsumi’s () question. “No way, it’s itchy and I am way too warm. Duno how you long haired folk do it. Summer must be a nightmare.” Just then a huge gust of wind whipped through the ballroom, scattering pages and pages of notes all about the place. Fade ducked out of the way of one, but when he turned around a page landed smack in the middle of his face.
"I keep it tied up and back," Kat replied, "mostly because I hate it getting on my face all the time. But having it off my neck helps keep me cool too." She followed "Sophie" to the window, snickering when a page plastered itself to Face's face. "A rescue! The pages are imperiled!" she cried, lifting her axe and pulling her wand from the slot in the haft. "Accio!" One of the wayward scraps flew into her hand.

"Thanks Fade," she said, "I love your costume too, especially the hair." Turning back to Audrey she grinned, "yeah last year I had to leave early to get my work finished, so I didn't want to make the same mistake again this time around." Paddy wasn't convinced at Magnus' response, but before she could say anything else, the ghost poet suddenly yelled as loads of sheets of paper went flying. Pulling her wand from the pocket of her dress, she aimed at the nearest piece of paper. Summoning charms weren't her speciality but it was better than running after the papers like a Muggle. "Accio," she said, crosing her fingers that the charm would work. The piece of paper slowly flew towards her and would've passed her left shoulder if she hadn't reached over to grab it. Handing the paper back to the ghost poet, she made a mental note to brush up on her charms this term.

Sævald Jómundursson finally was able to collect up his works and began to recite his ghoulish poetry out near the carving stations.
Inside the Great Hall, the three ghosts providing the musical entertainment finished their last set and bowed, then disappeared without a trade (along with the piano). The stage sat quiet for a moment, then a new ghost appeared. DJ Dillard John Deejay, or DJ DJ DJ, appeared in their stead with his sound equipment.
"This is DJ DJ DJ, and I think it's time to kick this party up a notch!"
The DJ turned up the music high and played a dance jam for the students to move their feet. Behind him, the large black pillar's glow changed from orange to blue, then threw off electric sparks into the air. Their range was not far and would not hurt any of the students--it was purely for show. To tie in some Muggle traditions, the staff had decided the pillars would best represent the electricity needed to bring Frankenstein's monster to life. When the sparks started flying, waiters dressed up like Frankenstein's monster appeared and carried trays of food and desserts through the crowds not dancing. They groaned, moaned, and walked crookedly in over-dramatic fashion.
You will still be able to complete the previous Writing Challenge and Missing Items challenge, but please remember all activities must be completed before the end of the ball!
- I don't think I am going to have enough time to use your ghost HA! I am going to save her for another occasion, however. ;))
