Food

I like to try and order off the traditional Chinese menu when I can/the menu has enough English for me to read. Doing this, I decided to try Congee, which is rice porridge with cow's stomach, pig intestines and squid. Unfortunately, it just ended up being very bland and salty.

Challenge

In under the wire again!!! I'd say the most adventurous eating I've done would be what used to gross my friends out... I used to dip my pizza into my chocolate pudding at lunch! hehehe

Though I always thought they were even more disgusting... they would dip their rice krispy treats into ranch dressing! D: AHH!

I'm not a very adventurous eater though... I'd say other culinary adventures I've had would be things like... trying sour cream and finding I like it, trying sushi, trying guacamole... normal stuff like that. LOL

Adventurous Food Challenge

Growing up I always thought durian had to be the most foul smelling food to ever exist. I stayed far away from it and didn't understand how my grandmother or anyone else could enjoy it. One day I brought my friends to try out a new dessert place. Guess what happened to be on the menu? Yup, durian. A friend got curious, ordered it with ice cream, and I had a tiny piece. Gosh that was awful -- it tasted like onions.

Challenge is still going, so theres plenty of time for a story/poem/other creative writing piece.

Challenge

When I lived in Florida, i tried blackened alligator tail. It looked and smelled like steak, when my friend gave me a piece to try I asked what it was. They would not tell me til after I had eaten it because they knew that I would not want to try it. It was actually very good and I would definitely have it again. I always try new foods but get grossed out at the thought of some things and just can not eat them, like clams.

Upon our journey we did face A multitude of things From Goolis, Xotls and the like To trail damaging winds

We cheered each other every day When times they did get tough We hunted cooked turkey and ham And some pineapple stuff...

Then Elwood was our hero With his pizza van and wood And we fought temple guardians We -thought- it was for good...

Merana plotted her escape And laughing, she did flee So, now we must take extra care For what lurks in the sea...

My writing challenge:

When word reached Elwood of Blake's - his best bud ever - latest adventure, he knew it was his time to shine. He loaded up his van with all the provisions he knew he would need for this journey. Which was mostly pizza. Actually, it was only pizza. But he knew the explorers would be hungry, and lucky for them, Elwood does delivery. It was also by sheer luck that his van was recently, conveniently pimped up with some extra "features" for multi-functional transportation. Basically, he had an all-terrain, high-speed flying, pizza delivery van, capable of flying from Saherimos to Omen Islands faster than sentient pineapples running for their lives. (Which is actually quite fast.) It wasn't Elwood who gave the van that pretty frikkin' sweet upgrade, and he wasn't quite sure who was responsible, but he had his suspicions about the writers of this plot. This was mostly due to the timing of the upgrade. Also, he overheard some things from staff. Those guys are really bad at keeping quiet, sometimes. But if Elwood was chosen to be this plot's deus ex machina, then so he shall be! Anything to help his bro.

Entry 6:

Rain pattered against the thick leaves hanging over the hut. Roiling clouds loomed overhead - Ula’nai crossed her arms as she watched the storm grow. Ever since the so-called adventurers rolled through the island its energy seemed to spike and surge. The waters were calm, however… With Merana gone, it was safe, no matter what the weather brought. Old habits died hard, however.

“Finno,” she called over her shoulder. A large Archan padded out from the hut.

“Yes?”

“Pull the boats in; I think we’re staying here tonight.”

Just in case.

Challenge Saturday

Her devoted follower cursed herself Hydrus, bought found and gathered all the gold trinkets leftover for years and placed them at her altar at every opportunity. Ocasionally she might witness a swish of fin as the offerings disappeared, or the sounds of a particularly long hairpulling anti-Shinwa tirade.

And now she is all alone with a few of those magnificent strands preserved so well from that time. Yes, now the occasional frightened spineapple hamhockhopper and Tumblurian now fell off the cliffs to be quickly scarfed and eaten and now all to her own stomach instead of fighting for it from all the others. But still, the aching of being all by herself after a decade of companionship and proper worship.

Bad Omens

Shoot pineapples, turkeys, ham, Fight goolies to the last man, Feed the lasirus, slash the vines, Up the mountain, double-time. The sea witch demands blood and gold Every year since times untold. With the team that you liked best Recruit Sephora, Esther, Wes. Hear the stories, watch the fire, Tomorrow we'll continue higher.

In the morning on the track Winds and monsoons blow us back. Termites eat logs as up we race (I only had those just in case!) Find a ravine and throw in Blake -- Adventuring's no piece of cake. No one understands at all When Elwood shatters the fourth wall. Can we get a lift in his van? Elwood's amazing -- yes we can!

Reach the tomb with torches lit -- That's not spooky, not a bit! Solve the puzzles, get the keys, Knock the guardians to their knees. The spoils go to he who wins: The crystal's touched, rumbling begins! Something's wrong so run away And live to adventure again some day.

Creative Writing - Challenge

If you open your eyes, and look around you can see something in distance. Something giant and majestic, You go a narrow path down, You hurry, because you won’t miss it.

An ancient building, a temple, in front of you, Nervously, you follow your inner voice. „I’m not afraid“, you say. But what should you do? Before you notice, you’re deep inside the Temple. Now you can see it clearly, there’s no way back, You go straight ahead, Seems you have no other choice.

A room full of treasures, gold and jewelry, You tend to take them all away. „Hold on“, you think, leave everything as it is, And tell everyone who will listen, About this precious fairytale.

Challenge

Up the mountain we did climb running, running, double time. Obstacles came to block our path to slow us down and push us back.

But as a team we overcame and continued on all the same. We were brave, we were strong and we kept on going all day long.

We made the top, the tomb in sight what's inside would come to light.

Inside the tomb we find 5 doors. Vines on walls and moss on floors.

Beyond the doors we used our brains to solve the puzzles for ultimate gains.

Finally one door left in sight with guardians inside we had to fight.

The glowing crystal beckons us come. Touch me, touch me everyone.

The glowing stops and the volcano stirs. To the village we must run. Man, this really isn't any fun!

In the village we wait our fate and then we learn of Merana's escape!

And now the mighty Merana is free. And her message to us all... Live the life of the sea!
