True, but I'm assuming the staff will adjust the frequency of weather events. We've gotten WAY too many good weather boosts this leg.
It's only Elwood that works now, so it should be him. It just sucks because I REALLY want Elwood but I'm pretty sure that it's Team Gold's turn for an NPC. Bleh.
Right? I'm just ready for this trail leg to be done so anyone who needs to can just get their activity points at camp.
I used your technique from Esther to test out all the NPCs in the 'pedia yesterday, Elwood refreshed the page instead of bringing up a 404.
they/them/theirs, please.

SELL ME FOOD PLS? 🡺 CLICK HERE 🡸I'm not surprised other people are having those same thoughts, because it certainly does seem suspicious. Statistically speaking, the odds of us switching on and off who wins the NPC/trail in a clear, distinct order are kinda low, though that's just my guesstimate.
If it turns out that the staff really were manipulating results, I would be so. very. PISSED. What's the point of trying if everything is predetermined anyways? Fuck that bullshit. Hell no. HEEEELLLLL to the no.
Besides, I do share the same sentiment as many others; i.e., this plot is rather static. We do the obstacles, talk to the NPCs which really don't give us any new information, fight to get the next NPC, rinse and repeat.

That is true, but it's still been helping us. And we still won't get bad weather to set us back, even if we get fewer good weather speed boosts.
Like I said, we'll see what happens. But I would expect the next leg to be a closer margin no matter who wins, because of whatever adjustments they'll make.
I've liked the bits of story that we've gotten so far, especially the most recent one from Matlal. But I do agree it would be nice to have some more variety in all of this. I know there is more to come once we reach the top of the mountain, but having us do the same thing over and over for like a week and a half (by the time this portion will likely end) is just kind of annoying.
I know I can do one at camp - I still want to do theöast one on trail. If the stupid spiders had been another event, everything would be fine laughs
no it's okay! I only have two more days of work and one is going to a fair - so afterwards I can do more!

gets the burgers and sausages ready
Yaaay! :D I'm very glad to hear that!! Oh, I'd post what would make me feel most comfortable :D
Oh yep, that's what says in the blue box in the On the Trail page o: I agree! I will play a few Survivor in a moment :D Oh, probably o:
That's cool! Great job, !! :D 👍 haha xD
speed boost at 32%...get ready on food...!!
Ah-ha! It was you! ;D Nice find!
I'm expecting the next NPC to show up soon as Elwood is officially announced. 😊 Unless he's the last one. Who knows.
I mean realistically there's a 50% shot at winning each step. But this very specific order of events for the trail (Gold-Steele-Gold-Steele) and NPC (Steele-Gold-Steele) are improbable but not totally unlikely. Theoretically each step should be independent of the rest, but I don't think they are which messes us any probability calculations. I will wait to see what actually happens, but I'm almost positive that despite our efforts, we will lose Elwood.
I would think there'd be at least one more, since there has been one after every trail leg. If there are going to be 6 legs, there should be 5 NPCs.
Although maybe there will only be 5 legs, if it only takes us one to get from the second temple all the way up the mountain. I'm just not sure.
That's what I'm not sure of. There could be 6, or there could be 5. Both are possibilities.
Random Event Someone throws a pie at you!
Seems like Elwood is already lurking about. :P
Yeah, I guess we'll find out after the next trail leg, if we end up at the mountain top or only like halfway.
I got that same event when the plot first started. Elwood confirmed. :P
To be fair, I feel like traveling to the top of a mountain in a wagon is probably pretty boring, so at least it's realistic. xDD
w00t, it went from 32 to 33% when I voted XD
But...not quite the 1/3 it needs to be.
As someone who has traveled across a desert with a wagon - though technically it was a handcart - yeah. Not only is it mind-numbingly boring but also really hard. And our big obstacle was all the stupid, stupid, STUPID sand, not all the jungle crap.

How about a webcomic about villains stumbling around redemption arcs? Drop by:

see the alternating makes sense to me because after losing a round the other team is more motivated to get the next one. Bitter defeat, and conversely (extra tiredness from all the effort needed to WIN the round) are their own check and balance right there (I think)
I'd honestly expected things to alternate pretty evenly for that reason alone - I know after we lost the speed boost most of our team was likely raring to go and the weather thing probably didn't seem like THAT big a deal (on paper before really experiencing it) After winning the 'good big' bonus of speed I could see the team ... not getting lazier, but like.... kindof getting lazier in a way. Sortof an eh. We already got the important one versus OMG WE WILL WIN WE MUST WIN RECLAIM OUR HONOR GOOO
coughs
I don't think it matters what the next npc gives or does (though I imagine it would be good to help even things out) I am wholeheartedly expecting team Gold to give it more than their all after how tiring and frustrating this leg of the journey must have been for them. If they don't win via sheer willpower I'll be quite surprised.
