PLOT STEP DETAILS & INFORMATION
Part One: Trail & Camp Portion (Click to View) After talking to Blake, you'll be directed to the Trail Page (which can also be found by clicking the caravan image on the banner across the top of every page). The rules are explained on this page, and more clarification from came later.
Quote
Welcome to the Omen Island Trail! Your goal is to make it up the mountain trail as quickly as possible, fighting and avoiding obstacles along the way.</p>
<p>If you’re looking out for yourself alone, you’ll need to complete 5 daily activities if you want that day’s share of plot points - that is, you have to help your team pass 5 obstacles or help out by collecting supplies. You can do a mixture of the two, but each activity will only count once!</p>
<p>There are also bonus plot points available for the team that reaches each checkpoint first. It’s true that you could let others do the work for you and reap the rewards, but that’s not very sportsmanlike, is it? Remember - your team may need your help to win the daily race. Try to pitch in as much as you can.</p>
<p>During your travels, you must work as a team to keep everyone fed and your energy up. If your food stores drop below 50%, your energy bar will begin to deplete, and if it hits 0 your team will be forced to rest for 30 minutes to gain it back - that’s valuable time that could give the other team an advantage!</p>
<p>There will be opportunities during the journey to attract certain NPCs to your team, who will provide special bonuses that will aid you on the trail.</p>
<p>Wesley is on your team! Your food stores deplete 10% slower.
Esther is on your team! You won&;t encounter any bad weather.</p>
<p>Happy trailing, and try not to die of dysentery!
Quote by Rah
Ok guys - if nothing is happening yet, that means the path is clear! You are on your way forward and things are going well. There will be obstacles along the path, that you will have to work together to clear. It might be a good idea to set up team boards and ping groups! If you&;re still confused once we&;ve hit a few obstacles, that&;s the point to ask questions.</p>
<p>In the mean time, you mostly want to make sure your food stores are kept full by playing the hunting game - there is no energy game! Energy will keep up as long as your food stores keep up. If food stores drop below 50%, then energy will begin to drop.</p>
<p>The trail is TIME-BASED. It&;s not going to be a step that&;s over in 5 minutes 😉 (Also, we may alter things along the way, this is obviously a new sort of feature for us and we may make adjustments)
Underneath the explanation, there are tracking bars for each team's caravan, as well as for the food and energy for our team. If you click on the "Go Hunting" button underneath the Food Bar, you will be taken to Survivor, a game where you collect food to restore our supplies. Keep playing this game as much as you can to help advance the team, until we run into an obstacle.

Survivor Point Values (click to view) Point values for the food items are as follows:

25 - Banana 50 - Ham 75 - Durian 100 - Pineapple 200 - Turkey/Chicken

Any score greater than 0 will count during the trail portion, although higher scores will provide more food for the team.

When an obstacle comes up, you will need to do what it says in order to complete it and help the team move on again. In order to complete your 5 tasks for the day to qualify for plot points, you will need to play the Survivor game at least once and participate in clearing at least 4 obstacles. These obstacles appear at various points along the trail, and they remain in place until the group works together to complete them. A notification appears underneath the progress banner found at the top of every page while an obstacle is in place.

Note: See the guide linked at the top of this post for more details regarding each potential obstacle.

You need to complete different obstacles to count towards your personal score while on the trail portion. If the same obstacle comes up more than once, you can help complete it in order for the team to move on, but it will not add another point to your 5 total.

Speed Boost
Starting with Trail , there is also a Speed Boost button located underneath the Energy Bar. If enough people vote for it, food and energy can be sacrificed for one hour to increase caravan speed. At least one third of all team members must vote for the speed boost for it to take effect. Once it is active, there will be an indication letting us know how much longer it will last.

When the speed boost activates, Food drops to 20% and Energy drops to 10%. The Food can be made up by playing more of the Survivor game, and Energy will slowly recover as long as Food is greater than 50%. Be careful not to re-activate the speed boost while Energy is still low. If our Energy goes to 0, we'll be forced to stop all progress for 30 minutes.

Campsite
At the campsite, you can talk to the characters with the orange exclamation marks next to their heads to learn more about the plot story. Additionally, you can play the Survivor and Jungle Chase games, or you can fight Spiders and Scarabs to count towards your 5 activities. These activities can count more than once toward your total while at camp, so you have an opportunity to catch up if you miss out on the obstacles during the trail portion.

Note: The minimum score for Survivor to count while at camp is 250 points, while the minimum score for Jungle Chase to count is 1,500 points.

Each camp portion will last for 24 hours starting and ending at approximately 6:00 PM Subeta time.

Progress Tracking
You can track the progress of each team by viewing the source code for the Trail Page and searching "caravan". This will bring up the URLs for the wagon images found on the progress bars on the page. Each of these images has a left position that displays a percentage. These percentages correspond to how far along each caravan is on the trail.

You can also track the "width" percentage for Food and Energy just below the caravan section in the source code.
Part Two: Mountain Temple Portion (Click to View) Upon reaching the top of the mountain, we find a mysterious temple with five doors. Clicking on the Gold Door in the center reveals that the other four rooms must be entered first to obtain all of the keys before unlocking the Gold Door.

The first door on the left has already been opened. It contains the "Seven Squares" puzzle that must be solved in order to receive a Bronze Summit Key.

The second door from the right can be opened with the Bronze Summit Key. It contains the "Dominos" puzzle that must be solved in order to receive an Iron Summit Key.

The first door on the right can be opened with the Iron Summit Key. It contains the "2048" puzzle that must be solved in order to receive a Silver Summit Key.

The second door from the left can be opened with the Silver Summit Key. It contains the "Solitaire" puzzle that must be solved in order to receive a Gold Summit Key.

Once you have obtained all of the keys, you can open the Gold Door. Upon entering the room, we are confronted by three Temple Guardians. Information regarding prizes for this community battle component is also displayed on the page.
There will be three separate six-hour-long* boss battles. You are welcome to participate in all three and to battle using multiple pets. However, each pet's cumulative damage against only one boss (the one they damaged the most) will count.

These three bosses have identical stats and deal the same amount of damage, and no one boss has any advantage over the others. Start times for each respective battle will be approximately 6pm, 2am, and 10am Subeta time.

Prizes will be awarded based on total damage dealt and also to the best damage-dealers in each tier. The tier-specific prizes for tiers 1-8 and tiers 9-13 are different, and there will be no "double dipping" for the top-in-tier prizes; these will be awarded only to your highest-level participating pet in each tier range. (For example, if you have a tier 1 pet, a tier 9 pet, and a tier 11 pet and all three are among the best damage dealers for their tier, the tier 11 pet and tier 1 pet will be awarded the top prize for their tiers, but the tier 9 pet will not; the prize will go to the next person's pet instead. All other prizes will be awarded to the tier 9 pet as usual.)

*Six hours is simply an estimate, as it's impossible to be precise when predicting overall damage dealt during boss battles. We may tweak the first boss's HP if necessary for timing, but any changes will also be reflected in subsequent bosses. The second and third bosses will not be tweaked and will last as long as they last.

Discussion and solutions for the Temple Puzzles can be found in the following forum thread.

Temple Puzzles [Warning: Spoilers]

There is also a "skip" option for the puzzle. Choosing this option will likely allow you to continue on with the next plot step, however you will probably not receive any plot points for the step(s) you choose to skip.
Part Three: Merana's Escape & Conclusion (Click to View) After defeating the Temple Guardians, we are prompted to touch the crystal found in the main temple room. The crystal stops glowing and the volcano stirs, forcing us to flee the mountain and run back to the village.

A bit later, Merana announced that the spell containing her to the island has been broken/weakened, and she unleashed some of her minions to battle.

Quote by Rah
No, these challengers don&;t get you plot points, they have their own separate loot. They&;ll be up for longer than 24 hours (likely until prizes are released, no earlier than Friday). You don&;t have to battle them if you don&;t want to.
Upon returning to the village, it becomes clear that the sea has calmed and Merana has abandoned the Omen Islands. All that remains is to speak with the NPCs one last time and wait for prizes to be rewarded.

Note: All event challengers will remain until 11:59pm on Sunday 25th September, when they will be retired.

Yeah, posted in the news that we need to keep playing the food game to keep our stores up and keep advancing.

Seems like there will be other things to do once we start hitting obstacles.

Obstacle!

A flock of lains stole your team's map and flew away with it! They ripped it into pieces and flew off in different directions; your team will need to search all over Subeta to find it again and continue on!

Maybe this could be our new forum thread since the other team can't see it. Just an idea for future tasks and updates.

I'm not sure if more points in that Survivor game nets you more food for your team, but if so, go for the chickens exclusively, since they give you 200 points each. They take a while to show up, but if more points really does mean more food, I guess it's worth it. o:

I found four map pieces, not sure how many were out there. Back to the food game? This is a fun idea, I hope I don't miss too many activities though. It's hard to be online all day. Maybe they'll have more than 5 obstacles each day but you just have to participate in 5?
