- I'd need to see the pet to make the decision! Basically, it the information is put across in an interesting way, and the profile also contains art/looks great, then there doesn't have to be a story. But if the profile is simple, and the bulk of the content is in the information which isn't original? That wouldn't be good enough. Of course, many profiles can go in between these two examples, and that's why it's difficult to say outright what's ok and what isn't.

Sorry if this question has been answered somewhere..I'm just a bit confused about the custom overlay thing.
If we have an overlay drawn...do we then have to upload it as a custom overlay for pets to be accepted for the spotlight? Can we still have someone make the profile and give them the art we want used as the overlay/part of the profile...or do we have to have the Subeta image of the pet if the overlay we have isn't a custom overlay?

- it isn't required that you upload your overlay as a custom overlay at all! People tend to do that because then that's how they see their pets all over the site, and it is how the pet will appear to other people if it wins the spotlight and is in the news.
You are welcome to just use your overlay in your layout, or put it over your pet with coding. That way, it will appear in the news as the official Subeta art rather than your custom overlay, but people visiting the petpage will see the art. Your example pet looks great! We only want to see additional overlay art in some kind of hover if the layout image isn't obviously a "pet".

When writing my pets story, how do i make a new paragraph? I am using Subeta lodge overlay and can not seem to be able to find the code for that, if there is a code. My paragraphs all run together. I was hoping someone could help me.

I'm considering commissioning another user for a profile for my pet Kirke, and I'd REALLY like it to involve a particular piece of art:
Circe, by Wright Baker. See, the problem is that there's exposed nipples. They're fairly faint, but they're there. Would this be allowed on a pet profile?

- that's a rules thing that doesn't fall under what I'm able to say is allowed! I don't think it is, but I'd make a ticket about that one. (Failing that, can you creatively cover the boobs area?)

My pet Ashilldr was denied today because the cake was blurry and I had no credit for the cake decorator. I have remade the profile with another cake and I did not know who the decorator was, but I listed the credit and put unknown. Can you please look at the profile again and see if it is satisfactory now?
Also, can you please tell me if my pet passes for the spotlight now, can she be taken back in the queue or does she have to be nominated again?
- listing the credit as unknown won't work - that's still taking somebody's art from the internet and using it without permission or credit. You'd need to take your own photo of a cake, or find a stock image that's free to use, or find an image where you can credit the cake company.
I cannot tell you on this board whether your pet passes for spotlight, the only way users can know if their pet is in the win queue for sure is if they actually win. We can not put her back in the nomination queue, another user has to nominate her again.

HELP! I set my glacier tutani as "ready to be nominated" for the spotlight. I had placed a neat gradient on her profile, but I just checked her profile today and the gradient was wonky! So I had to change the profile to a basic color instead of the gradient. I'm concerned that I might be penalized for changing the profile (she hasn't been nominated yet).

- if your pet has not been nominated yet, any changes you have made to it will not further affect our spotlight decision making. Only changes made once the pet has been nominated may cause it to be shuffled around in our winner queues (if it's made it into the winner queue) - and even then, it only needs to a quick reevaluation!

How do you nominate a pet? It said there would be a link under the pet's owner, but all I saw was a heart. Is that it?

My pet Compel was denied for not having credits but they are there, just in another div :) I think that's why, I think I have everything listed I hope! does it look like it to you?
Since her theme is to compel people to follow her lights, I used each glow spot as a separate div section. (Which was me trying to be creative but hopefully it's not too outside of the box!) Since only the credit one seemed to have been overlooked, it looks like the rest was okay for finding the minion, tc and stuff so I think that's a good sign lol
- I must admit, even with you telling me that it took me two tries to find it! I'll pass this info on to who has been doing the majority of spotlight :)

Yes that was hard to find and kinda hard to get too cause the story kept overriding. Also, the first box after Prash, is that for the spotlight? Because it is empty right now xD just checking!

thanks so much for checking that. I'll try to find a way to make it more accessible and stay up better. I really appreciate the feedback. :) (I was a little nervous about hers!) And I think the box is empty cos that's where I had the nominate text /(trophy box if she would ever win), but the box is unchecked for nomination rn, so it'll be empty till she's ready to try again.

I want to use this gorgeous Subeta serpent art by emphasismine for an overlay for my new lilac serpenth pet. I would have it recolored completely to more closely resemble an occamy, with a few changes to the jewelry and feathers and such as well. I read in the rules that it would need 4 changes unless it is official Subeta art, which this is though not a pet. I'm sure there would be 4 changes anyway. Would this be accepted as a custom overlay and if nominated be able to win the spotlight? I would credit emphasismine for the art and Morse for the recolor. I would have to change up the jewelry and head feathers myself.
