I tried do gift a Zentu two diferents itens( Rose Quartz Tiered Pearl Necklace and Wreathed Sapphire Circlet) but i dont get a message that i recived the pet.

Your item will disappear and it will take you to a page where it says Congratulations, you've adopted ____ the Zentu!

If it's not working, try another browser. Firefox apparently is having problems right now and it won't allow adoption even with the correct items. I had the same issue. It worked for me in Chrome.
